SRINI87
“Spicy, Filling and Addictive” – Tomasz Gop on Lords of the Fallen | Exclusive Interview Lords of the Fallen, the upcoming RPG by Deck 13 and CI Games Studio, has gotten lots of people quite excited. Promising to deliver a hardcore gameplay experience in an RPG package, Lords of the Fallen has often been described as a European Dark Souls. We recently spoke to Lords of the Fallen’s Executive Producer Tomasz Gop about story, gameplay, tech, and how his experience with The Witcher has shaped Lords of the Fallen’s development. And, of course, we get his opinion on single player games. Lords of the Fallen is set in a rich world of mystery and divinity, revolving around the struggle between humanity and their god. While specific details about how you’ll move through that world and what the exact narrative experience will be is yet to be revealed, Gop let us in on a few more details regarding the world of Lords of the Fallen. “The legend has it, that many thousand years ago humanity has fought and defeated their god and his army by imprisoning him underground for what seemed to be forever. As a last desperate act, the god tried to break free and struck his hand through the ground shaping a monstrous mountain range that is no more than a symbol of ancient times these days. Also, humanity has all this time believed that evil is not a part of our nature and that it can be cast away, exorcised from ourselves. Even recently, few experiments on that matter have proved to be successful. Is that the reason why now demons from the fallen god’s army started to reappear? Well, that’s for players to find out.” read full interview @ onlysp Edited January 3, 2014 by SRINI87

ALPHA17
That's a deadly combo, everything wanting to kill you while you try to figure out a puzzle. AND it has witcher's producer on it? Why aren't more people hyped about this??? Just because it has a producer from a critically acclaimed franchise does not mean it is going to be the most amazing cataclysmic event in this year's releases. Also, about the HYPE bit; Make haste, cautiously. The game looks good, is a new IP, lets see what happens without going OMGWTFBBQ! L337 H4xx! Heaven Angel
There is nothing to get hyped. No in-game screens, no gameplay, nothing. All we have is bunch of details.
(A)Kira
Considering all the different games this is being compared to and is taking inspiration from, its either going to be great game, or a goddamn mismatched train wreak.
ALPHA17
Considering all the different games this is being compared to and is taking inspiration from, its either going to be great game, or a goddamn mismatched train wreak. I hope this turns into something like Darksiders, I never played Zelda or God of War and although people call the aforementioned a poor cousin of the same, I think the game was really strong and the art was ace. So if it can bring Dark Souls like combat with The Witcher's twisted morality guided by an overarching Eastern Europe feel. I will receive it very favourably and it is a new IP, so credit where credit's due. 2014, year of the RPG. Hopefully quality RPG's. Wishing all members on this thread and their families a Happy, Prosperous and Cheerful 2014. Edited January 3, 2014 by ALPHA17

SRINI87
Tomasz Gop Explains Why There’s No Wii U Version of Lords of the Fallen Gop explained to us that Deck13′s proprietary Fledge Engine is, “not tailor-made for Wii platform” and the development team for the game only consists of 50 people. To put it in simple terms, Gop explained there’s simply, “not enough time and resources” for them to develop on the Wii U. src: onlysp
SRINI87
Lords of the Fallen dev reflects on Dark Souls comparison, is not a franchiseAs part of a VG247 interview you can read here next week, former CD Projekt RED developer Tomasz Gop reflected on comparisons between Lords of the Fallen and the Dark Souls series. The action-RPG is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One this autumn and takes places in a fantasy world where god himself has been imprisoned deep below the Earth; with only his arm sticking out of a vast mountain range, stuck there after one final attempt at escape. Without warning, his minions have sprung forth and are wreaking havoc on the land. In this world, wrongdoers have marks of their misdeeds tattooed on their body as a reminder of their shame, and only Harken; the most tattooed wrongdoer in the land has the power to stop this threat. He’s not a nice person, to say the least. Gop conceded that Lords of the Fallen is a difficult game, and stressed, “It’s not a franchise,” so the game’s world and lore needs to be memorable, just as its combat must be fluid. First impressions – as they say – are everything. On the Dark Souls comparisons, battles will prove tricky, with nine weapon pools to choose from spread across three classes. Melee is the heart of combat, and boasts a range of combos that must be mastered to fell demonic enemies with ease. Some attacks offer brief windows of invulnerability that must be used to increase your survival, as well as blocking and dodge rolls. Just like From Software’s series, attack patterns must be memorised and brutal foes must be slain against all seemingly impossible odds. src: vg247
(A)Kira
I hope this isn't too much like DS, then it'll be eclipsed by the shadow of the original. Oh, and I hope I'm not reposting these screens I'm loving the few enemy designs we've seen.

KyoyaHibari
This games looks cool. It would be great if the character animations(like running, attacks, dodges) are good. most fantasy rpgs suck at this aspect..

SRINI87
[VG247]Lords of the Fallen is difficult, epic, and a little bit evil – interview “This is a game about you crossing the gap, and the difference and distance between being a random noob at the beginning, and skilled pro player at the end. This crafting of your skill is what this is about, and I thought Dark Souls was exactly about the same thing.” “Technically, in my opinion, this is a very different game to The Witcher, because it’s not an orthodox RPG, which I perceive The Witcher to be. It’s an action RPG.” Edited January 23, 2014 by SRINI87

SRINI87
"soon" is not the soon We once knew meh EDIT: Tomasz Gop - We really want to prepare for that one-of-a-kind moment when we make a first impression, hope you understand. Now, having said that, we are working to make that happen no later than end of Feb. Edited January 23, 2014 by SRINI87
(A)Kira
Leaving the gameplay footage aside, I like what I'm hearing about this game. Even if the articles are half the truth of it, we'd be getting a decent game with the right influences.
