happens to me too during heavy stresses or bad times... but interest comes back for me when i am in a good mood or stress free.. hope that will happen for u too :console:

Story of most of everyone's life, but what worries is me that, when i was younger i used gaming as stress relief, but now during stressful moments i don't even have the urge to play games, watch anime/cartoons/sitcoms/movies, i forcefully watch some of the prior mentioned stuff, but gaming is a no go then, i need a genuine answer to why this is happening now & i desperately need a cure, is it because i mostly played with friends & now these single player games don't appeal ? is it because games lost the quality of PS2 & older games ? Is it because games are costly & buying the fancy game box just makes me feel like a limited copy book collector ? cherishing that box & admiring the artwork

There are so many things that i can't answer

Because slowly most games have changed from just having an engaging experience into multi-player fests. Earlier because of the lack of Broadband, LAN based gaming was all the rage, endless hours spent on CounterStrike / Quake 3 where even the hardware requirement was not an arm and a leg. Best of all, everything was with friends (actual peeps) than some dude somewhere. I am not saying that online personas cannot be engaging but the attitude of most multi-player gamers is a disgrace.

Our age brings forth responsibilities and the limit of our means. We spend more time trying to justify the cost and our purchase of the title than actually enjoying it. That is why I no longer prefer multi-player heavy title, I want an escape and if it has a co-op / MP component fine, although the story is what I crave.

Also, have a small list of titles that you will purchase in a year, no point keeping (downloading) every console exclusive / major franchise on the hit-list and come of with a bad aftertaste.

I have not ended in this trap, yet, because I have kept my taste narrow and I don't feel it is wrong to go back to older games / TV series.

Best advice is to go out, plan a road-trip or some such, visit unwind then comeback. Even stop actively commenting on the forum if you feel so. No harm done.

Finally, enjoy and engage in gaming for what it is, don't feel you are answerable or accountable to anyone. Play the games you like, form the opinions you want to, express them, civilly and within bounds.

This is weird... I love games, all my life, but since some time ago I cant find the time or interest in playing them, even the unfinished good ones. I have a my desktop full of shortcuts to the best games in the recent times that i havent finished and even in PS3 I didnt complete game like GOW4. Lately for last couple of week I not even played the FIFA also. I like them all and yet I just stare at the screen..

Exact same feelings. Repped.

I see lots of people said they already leave gaming. They concentrate on other work. But one question what they r doing in this comm? That means gaming is still in there soul.

Going through the same low. Heck, I haven't downloaded some of the free PSN Plus games yet! I guess this can be attributed to lack of innovative games. At the end of the day, in most games you just hack, slash, or lob grenades..

I was thinking a different console (Wii, probably) could put things back on track.

Oh Look at me! I have 37 games associated with my PSN account (i am not PS Plus so i bought them) but still i am at only 16% completion and i havent touched/finished more of my collection.... I generally buy 2-3 games altogether and end up not finishing even one and buying another lot, haha!
