Dude, stop being a crybaby for your imbecile of an incompetent company.

Alan Wake had some of the most stupid pre-launch drama, initially a Vista and Xbox 360 game, then exclusive to the latter and finally a bunch of years later the game came on PC. And what was the price here, Rs 699. I am not going to pay $60 for a game that has so many false starts.

The same thing happened with Quantum Break and the same is happening to so-called titles which 'Microsoft cares for PC' apologists pull out of their a*s. AoE: Definitive, dead. Ryse, dead, Tomb Raider, dead. Do not expect sympathy by forcing us to use your garbage of a storefront. Get stuff on established platforms, do not want to go with STEAM, use GoG or ORIGIN.

But then I do not expect you to use or get logic. So why bother.

Ok, you have a point. MS store did f**ked up some sales.

But what about Dishonored 2, Evil within 2 and Wolfenstien 2?

And even if Remedy releases AW 2 exclusively on Steam today, game will not do big numbers unless game has some replay value or priced under 40$. If you go and check Steam, Xbox or Psn top sellers, you will not see a single linear 60$ game in top 20. Market is changing and no matter how you spin it facts won't change.

They sold poorly, it was expected for all except maybe Wolfenstein because that has a good solid following.

Bethesda still has not issued statements pertaining to whether they will not continue with these franchises and MachineGames has anyway stated that the Wolfenstein games were to come as a trilogy. So we will be seeing something there, hopefully.

Remedy does not have to release it exclusively on STEAM. Open up the market, add more players, branch out to PlayStation if required (but hey that will take real balls instead of the soft pawing we see from Microsoft).

Also, no single-player title will stay on top of the charts for long but we still have Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Hellblade doing well. Which means there is a core audience which will purchase the game and then you can get more sales a year down the line with a sales. Single-player titles are not dead, the only companies that think they are dead have amazing sales figures to show and abysmal player retention a.k.a. Battlefront 2, CoD.

I agree people want value for money.

Also those who are giving examples of ps4 games need to realise the total no of ps4 s out there. Anything and everything is selling there coz of the run ps4 is enjoying this generation, had there sales been same as the xbox even they would have been thinking twice b4 investing 50-60 million in sp games.

I feel bad for bethesda and the discounts their games see within the 1st month inspite of being multiplatform and really good most of the time.

You know, the only catch in that whole argument is that the whole thing was on its head in the last generation. Xbox 360 held a considerable lead during the launch of a bunch of single-player focused titles like Alan Wake. And they all bombed quite terribly or did just about okay. I wonder if it was STEAM's fault?

Microsoft loves its big budget, hype train sellers, does not concentrate enough on a strong first-party lineup and it still seems to be way too pigeon-holed to try out other projects.

Again, nothing to feel bad about. No one at Bethesda has said remotely about shuttering studios behind these titles.

Unlike certain other companies.
