.lol Yea she is a killing machine..... She is able to kill clickers and runners with just a small knife...... lol....

lol she gets a rifle from david in the part where you have to kill all the infected and stealth isn't an option.. and it's not like she got all that experience all of a sudden..

After that very first section with David, it is up to you how you wanna control Ellie.. You can even SKIP ALL ENEMIES as i did on my last playthrough.. didn't kill a SINGLE enemy as Ellie after that infected horde section.. just sneaked past all of them.. that's what ND wanted you to do as well imo, that's why you start with 0 bullets and a kinfe..

obviously if you don't be stealthy and try to take them out all guns blazing (or even using stealth for that matter) you are gonna find it unrealistic na ?

Come on guys...aise toh all video game/movie characters are overblown...nobody is capable of doing the sh*t that people do in any work of fiction.

There is reason why they are called fictitious characters...because they are someone's imaginations.

this. :)

Ellie was pretty vulnerable even when she started killing; you never saw her sneak up on a guy and choke him out or shiv him, you saw her dangling wildly as she stabbed him messily.

I actually found her death animations pretty violent, I guess I am still not used to see a small kid impaled by a sword

I think Joel made the right choice.. There was no guarantee that the world would be saved if Joel gives up on Ellie..

The firefly docs already had 12 chances before Ellie (recorders in the hosp state that there indeed are more people like Ellie and Firefly docs had almost 12 failed subjects)

What were the chances of the world being saved by Ellie's sacrifice ?? Pretty much none imo.. Joel had an easy choice to make.

13 to vaise bhi unlucky hota hai

But where was it?!

In the last lvl.. Hospital one.. When your making your way to the OT.

There are 4 recorders in that section. Doctor's recordings 1 and 2 and Marlene's recordings 1 and 2.

Joel's decision was very selfish, so from an outsider's perspective he made a wrong choice, regardless of 12 fails before people have to go on finding the cure, they cannot and should not just give up. But if i were in Joel position i would have done the same what he did.

Maybe i misinterpreted what's in those recordings

Anyway here they are -

Marlene recording 1

"It's five thirty pm on April 28th. I just finished speaking... heh.. more like yelling at our head surgeon. Apparently there's no way to extricate the parasite without eliminating the host. Fancy way of saying we've got to kill the ****** kid. And now they're asking for my go ahead. The tests just keep getting harder and harder don't they. I'm so tired... I'm exhausted... and I just want this to end... So be it.."

Marlene recording 2

"Hey Anna. It's been awhile since we spoke. I um.. I just gave the OK to precede with the surgery. I really doubt I had much of a choice. Asking you is more of a formality. I need you to know that I've kept my promise all these years. Despite everything that I'm in charge of, I looked after her. I would have done anything for her and at times Here's a chance to save us. All of us. This is what we were after. What you were after. They asked me to kill the smuggler. I'm not about to kill the one man in this facility who understands the wait of this choice. Maybe he can forgive me. Oh I miss you Anna. You're daughter will be with you soon. "

Surgeon's recording

"April 28th. Marlene was right. The girl's infection is like nothing I've ever seen. The cause of her immunity is uncertain. As we've seen in all past cases, the antigenic titers of the patient's Cordyceps remain high in both the serum and the cerebrospinal fluid. Blood cultures taken from the patient rapidly grow Cordyceps in fungal-media in the lab... however white blood cell lines, including percentages and absolute-counts, are completely normal. There is no elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and an MRI of the brain shows no evidence of fungal-growth in the limbic regions, which would normally accompany the prodrome of aggression in infected patients. We must find a way to replicate this state under laboratory conditions. We're about to hit a milestone in human history equal to the discovery of penicillin. After years of wandering in circles we're about to come home, make a difference, and bring the human race back in control of its own destiny. All of our sacrifices and the hundreds of men and women who've bled for this cause, or worse, will not be in vain."

'The cause of her immunity is uncertain. As we've seen in all past cases,"

this part made me believe that there are more ppl lik ellie..

Anyway just searched a bit and turns out that i did misinterpret that recording :fear: :runaway:

& the best part is comparing her with child soldiers

Who go through years of training......& still never go 50 on 1

It was overblown....without a doubt.....specially considering her size & age

comparison with child soldiers was in order to show even at young age a person can be mentally ready for battle. 50 on 1 in unrealistic in every sense, no matter if it is a 15 year old girl or 30 year old man. No one would be able to survive those odds safe for great luck or some massive advantage. you have to have some levels of suspension of disbelief when consuming movies or videogames.

so yes, 50 on 1 is unrealistic but not because the person taking them on is a teenaged girl, even a grown man would not be able to win it. If you are going by that logic then Joel too should have been decimated considering the game is emitting "real vibes". Mistake is when you specifically pointed her gender and age and calculated she wont be able to do it because of those two factors.

he saved her cause he had got attached to her, she reminded her of his dead daughter and it helped him emotionally. Do you think he'd have saved her if she was some random kid he happened to see walking by near the end ? It was selfish insofar as it robbed everyone a genuine shot at getting a cure, Greater good. Selfish should not be taken in a negative sense here, he was well within his rights to save her, but if it is a question of a Right or Wrong decision you have to base it from the pov of humanity in general.

You can't complete first and last section with stealth..You have have to fight the Horde in first section and the final section..

.They attack you from all directions....There is no place to hide.... :|

....First section reminded me of RE4 's Cabin scene. :D

But it still isn't right to sacrifice Ellie's life without her consent. In one of the recordings the firefly leader (forgot her name) says she's conflicted about killing Ellie but she's too tired to find another way of extracting the cure. They just want it to end, so are willing to go for the seemingly easy choice of Killing Ellie instead of researching for another way.

I dont think any person would be willing to give their consent to have themselves killed. If the researchers went about getting NOC's then they would not have been able to get any volunteer.

We dont know what all alternative experiments were conducted or were theorised, so given the information that is.. well.. given, experimenting and trying to replicate, mutate or enlarge any gene that could have been in the girl that was very visibly preventing the disease seems like the only available option. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Just finished it yesterday.

To me, it was a great job by ND to avoid a cliche ending like most post apocalyptic media, but still, it's a deeply unsatisfactory ending. It's clear that Ellie has suspicions and there'll be a day, sooner or later, when she finds out what Joel did and it will break their relationship.

I feel Ellie would have volunteered to die if it meant a chance finding a cure, and Joel knew that. It's in the way she talks about her friend in the end, and constantly waiting to die.

Joel is just not a hero. He is a normal human being, and like most others in the world, he makes some tough choices to live in such a world.

Gameplay wise, I thought TLOU was wonderful. Winter segment from start to end is near perfection.

@ Elessar

but dont you think a 'satisfactory' (though the definition is subjective) ending would go the cliched route ? you are correct about a possibility of a strained relationship, Ellie has massive survivor's guilt towards the end.

ND make a sequel where she is deeply fractured emotionally as she feels betrayed or disrespected by Joel as he made the decision for her. She becomes a lone wolf, grows up and now is on a suicidal mode, a devil may care attitude where she goes about killing bad guys and not giving a f**k about safety :D
