It's a fighting game. What has the number of characters to do with graphics? Only two characters are on-screen. :|

I imagine those are sorts of reasons arc system works will give, seeing how in recent times i have no memory of adding characters beyond 15 & for a $60 game i feel it's pretty retard & i guess they are starting a trend of such games, i agree making a good looking fighter with a detailed move list is complicated, but look at Street Fighter or King of Fighters, it's not impossible to pull off

Making new fighting game characters is very very hard. When you compare it with other genres , the character IS more than half of the game , with the other half being game mechanics.

If your characters suck , the game sucks...

Dont compare to Tekken and MK , they already have a huge history of well defined characters they can choose from. A game like KI or Blazblue needs to come up with brand new moves, new character design, new mechanics ..etc and testing out how they work.

Think about it , even SF2 started with only 8 characters , SF3 started with 11. and the original SF4 also had only 12. It takes time when the game is soo old and hasnt been updated in ages like KI . They need to completely rework stuff.

I thought Vanilla SF4 had 15-18 characters, anyway not being cocky here but i can come up with a good character plot-wise, the only hard part i see is creating a move set, compared to that character story & design can be done with some effort, after all it's imagination, you wont have problems if you played with it for a long time

LOL at the discussion going on here for a game that costs $20 at launch for 8 characters and quite possibly the best F2P model in a FG yet.

The revealed character isn't Kim & completely new to the KI Universe, Sadira's the name. More at TGS hopefully ( or a proper reveal before since it's a month away -___- )

Jago will be swapped out after 3 months , as the default free character. Looks like they are following a LoL style character rotation .

http://gamingbolt.com/killer-instinct-dev-anything-that-hinders-60-fps-is-removed-or-optimized-praises-xbox-one-cloud

On being asked how difficult or easy it was to run the game at 60 FPS at 1080p, the duo replied: “Technically we are running at 720p and 60 FPS. 60 FPS is another pillar of the project. Anything added to the game that doesn’t allow us to run at 60 is removed or optimized. Nothing would be more frustrating than need pixel perfect accuracy at anything below 60. It would feel sluggish and unresponsive.”

We also asked their thoughts on Microsoft’s claims about the power of Cloud and how the Xbox One will eventually become more powerful as developers find intelligent ways of using it.

“We can gather tons of telemetry data on how people are playing the game which is good for validating design decisions. We can also let players upload and generate their own video content using the GameDVR feature which is a fantastic tool for sharing new game tech with the community.”

Good that they are aiming for 60 fps. But no 1080p60fps on a next gen fighter is disappointing.

BTW is there ANY fighting game that runs below 60 fps? What special are they doing to call this next gen?

Shadoken is a fan of KI. He would have loved even if it was 480p :P . And I don't think he cares about graphics in fighting games. Even I don't care much. But a nextgen launch 1st party fighter not running at 1080p is disappointing.

And Eurogamer said game was running at 1080p60fps. Either they were spewing BS or game is downgraded post E3. If latter is true, then CBOAT was right. Xbone is struggling with performance.

^^ The game was , but what I played might not have even been running on a XB1 :fear: Artstyle is still too good , it just looks fantastic. Glad they aren't reducing framerate to make game look better.(I wish more games did this)

I think getting 1080p/60fps standard for games will take time , last gen itself most games were 480p/30fps (native) and were up scaled to 720p/1080p.

As for KI , I think its just the devs. XB1 shoudnt be having troubles with this game. or atleast I hope it doesnt.

Yeah, rushed console + average devs= 720p.However we can disregard all E3 impressions now, as all games were running on nvidia based PCs.

Same goes for Sony games..Not a single game was running on PS4 hardware....Sony games were also running at high end Pcs...Look at Drive club, E3 footage was all pre-rendered running on high end PC and real actual PS4 footage looks average....
