Is it okay to pick this up now?

I don't see people in my list playing this game.

Naaa.

I dont suggest you buy this now. May be if you get it for cheap.

Game is very good, no doubt. But you are playing Overwatch and there is UC4 as well.

TF2 n BF1 are releasing in less than 3 months.

Get it only if its really cheap.

M also planing to update the game and play it sometime.

That would be me. I play this game very regularly and I'm around 220 hours in. Well worth it. The game has improved a lot and there is a LOT of content. The core mechanics are solid and the Star Cards allow you to pick your own loadout. There are lots of combinations and counters to each Star Card, giving the whole system a lot of depth. The Outer Rim DLC is great too.

Keep in mind that this game plays more like Overwatch rather than Battlefield - players are funneled towards a single objective. In fact, the game mode, 'Extraction', is exactly the same as the Payload game mode in Overwatch. The only difference is that the shipment moves only after you activate it:

The maps are very well designed with some nice chokepoints. Most matches are incredibly close, where it's a coin toss as to who might win. For example, our team was inches away from delivering the Shipment in Extraction, but we had only a minute left on the clock. Almost every match is like this - leads to some really tense finales:

It's also very very cinematic. The thing that surprised me the most about this game is that it plays exactly how it was shown in the trailers. Gameplay vids are usually very choreographed and MP matches never play like that, but Battlefront is one of the few exceptions. It's also not a twitch shooter like COD. If in a firefight, you have a chance to make it out alive even if the enemy spots you first.

This my GOTY simply cos it's the most fun I've had with a game in a long long time. It's very well crafted, there are constant (free) content updates - usually every month, and the DLC is well worth the price. And as ALPHA had asked me earlier, I had also played these games in 2015/2016 and I still place Battlefront at the top: Witcher 3, Doom, Overwatch, MGS V, Until Dawn, Arkham Knight, Uncharted 4, The Order.

Oh yeah, the player base is very strong on the PS4. Despite what online stats be, I've never had trouble finding a match in Asia/Europe any time of the day - even for the DLC. I play this alone and unlike Overwatch, playing with randoms is fine. The game also has a mechanic to non-verbally communicate with your teammates to let them know which objective you're going for. Get it now; it's well worth it even at full price.

Details on the new Death Star DLC:

Big announcements on the battlefront from Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this week. For the first time, we are taking Star Wars™ Battlefront™ to space in the latest expansion pack based on one of the most iconic weapons ever created – the Death Star. The new mode for the expansion pack shown at Gamescom is named Battle Station. This unique mode has players battling across 3 phases - each with a different objective.

In Phase 1 you’ll be flying X-wings and A-wings against TIE fighters and TIE interceptors in space! The main objective in this phase is for Rebels to destroy enough TIE fighters until their Y-wing support can come in to weaken the Star Destroyer’s defenses. Once vulnerable, Rebel starfighters can attack the weak spots in an effort to bring the Star Destroyer down. In an effort to help defend this key asset for the Empire, players along with AI ships will be set up to help defend the Star Destroyer.

Phase 2 will have players fighting inside this iconic space station among areas inspired by the classic trilogy. Rebel infantry will be tasked with extracting a priority droid from within the Death Star. Amidst the chaos of battle, you’ll be able to gain an advantage by taking up arms as our new heroes Bossk and Chewbacca!

And finally, in the culmination of the new mode, players head back into space where the Rebels need to end the battle once and for all - by blowing up the Death Star! Players can become the hero of the Rebellion, Luke Skywalker, in his Red-5 X-wing as they attempt to destroy the Empire’s ultimate weapon. But beware as Darth Vader has been dispatched to protect the Empire's asset in his TIE Advanced.

Other new content will also be coming to the Death Star expansion including new Star Cards and Blasters, in addition to the aforementioned Heroes, Bossk and Chewbacca. Make sure to check back for more details as the Death Star expansion will become fully operational in September.

This game is amazing :wOOtjumpy: The main menu music itself is so well done. They really captured the Star Wars feel. Takes few seconds to find a match on PS4. Endor,Hoth,Jakku,Scarif and Tatooine maps are detailed and looks similar as shown in the movies. A dream come true for all Star Wars fans  .
