Shadoken
Does Activision interfere with the studios development and then shut then down? They make money off their own ips and sure they milk them but ultimately its the fan base that buys them. I don't fault EA for spamming Fifas or Battlefields. They are the only ones in the industry who pull shady tactics and ruin studios to the ground. They do bullshit like buy a license and make shitty games with it and because they have the money no other dev can even do anything about it. Let's not forget about their can't beat em let's buy em strategy. Let's not even get to the work culture, although they have changed quite a bit right now after all that negative feedback. Shadoken
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Arts Read the criticism section. No other publisher has such a huge record of scumbag decisions over 2 decades. The company is built in this foundation. Other companies like Activision, Capcom, Ubi aren't saints now. But they were built with good games and the fans loved them. Cmon who really hated these guys pre -ps3 era. Milking franchises and DLC fiascos isn't even a real problem. People like then so they but it. But EA is on a whole new level. You don't get to be called "America's worst company" with just a few years of pissing people off. EA will (sometimes rightly) get the blame for the studios that closed under their watch but people need remember how many studios died in the transition to the HD era that were not owned by EA. Last gen was a meat grinder for anyone who couldn't make massive hits. Making medium sized hits in the PS2 gen was a viable strategy. It just didn't work in the HD era when the costs of making games went haywire. As I said some of those closures was bad management and EA's fault. But a lot of those studios were never gonna make it. EA or no EA. It is also the publishers fault for pushing a AA game into the AAA market. They lose their core audience and the new market doesn't really care either. AA games did work for companies like From, PG, CA.

Sach4life
1. - Really? 2. - Yea, all those expansion packs for -craft series is not greed at all. 3. - Remember Diablo launch? Yep, didn't piss off any fans. 4. - No one is saint in gaming industry (okay, may be one or two), but EA and Activision are top two evil companies followed by Ubisoft. Activi$ion has killed as many series/studios like EA. EA just owned more, so more killings. Products: Barbie Horse Adventures series - Dead. Call of Duty series - MILKING EVERY YEAR. James Bond series - Dead. Skylanders series - Almost dead. Spyro the Dragon series - Dead. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series - Dead. Guitar Hero series - Dead. Warcraft series - still milking. Make new game already. StarCraft series - ^ Diablo series - Great launch. No bugs! Heroes of the Storm - Good. Overwatch - Time will tell. Subsidiaries: Beachhead Studios - CoD mobile. Beenox - Spidey studio. Almost dead.. DemonWare - Great matchmaking for online games. FreeStyleGames - Dead. High Moon Studios - Somewhat alive. Infinity Ward - ALIVE Radical Entertainment - Um. Almost dead. Raven Software - ALIVE. Sierra Entertainment - Dead. Sledgehammer Games - ALIVE. Toys for Bob - Dead. Treyarch - ALIVE Vicarious Visions - Yearly Skylanders...mobile. (dead as in buried for most cases) All Activi$ion has is Call of Duty. And Blizzard has those -craft series running.. If anything at least EA tries and brings new stuff yearly, even if it turns out bad, we had some nice variety of games. And speaking about money, Activi$ion actually made loss during 2013 ( US$ 4.583 billion (2013)), while EA made profit ( US$ 3.797 billion (2013)). (can't be arsed to check 2014 stats) EA knows people are getting bored of Battlefield slowly. Hence they are publishing new shooters to keep things interesting. Titanfall, Hardline, now Battlefront. What's wrong? What Activi$ion is doing? Yeah...release..Call of Duty yearly with $60 season pass + additional $$ for skins/slots/pack/other bull-shite. But when EA releases premium for their games (which lasts for 2 years), everyone loses their mind. // Fυck off from this thread if you are going to hate blindly. We know nothing about the game so far. You can come in and bitch when you have actual game details. For now have hope (if it fails, only we are the losers. We'll be stuck with yearly BF/CoD games) and be glad that we are getting FREAKING STAR WARS game after so many years, and this is DICE. They have really good track record. Activision actually made profits. That red sign indicates that the profit was less than last year but it is still profit. Its not in negative/its not a loss. Sach4life
Atleast let the game release before making fun of it. If you are not interested in the game, don't sh*t on it to ruin other people's fun.

There is a difference between sh*ting on a game and making fun of it and posting an opinion. An opinion is expressed in a civilised manner. First go and learn the difference between the two before posting on the internet. As far as i am concerned,i am not a mp shooter fan. I am not even gonna play this game. ALPHA17
^ If Visceral survives that long. With its vision unaltered. And honestly what would you like to see in a single player campaign, most of the exciting stuff from the old STAR WARS expanded universe has been retconned and shunted into the Legends sub-section. I do not want to see the same old modern warfare story being placed in a STAR WARS skin. Sad but true, would have been much happier if Disney would have left older productions on-going, like STAR WARS 1313. But nope, time to get another generic multi-player shooter, with more graphics, more DLC and lesser player counts, user generated content than the predecessor. That is a different thing all together. My point was mainly towards people sh*ting on the game without knowing anything. We know a decent bit man. The recent show at Anaheim actually increased the number of shortcomings. No user generated content (expected, since FROSTBITE is too advanced to be MODDED) Smaller player count No concurrent Space-Land battle No pilotable AT-AT Fewer maps Fewer heroes A smaller timeline to play in Yup and expect to pay more for the 'complete' experience. Sorry for being such a pessimist but hey this is what the industry is turning into.

Because SW 1313 was breaking new gameplay ground? All we ever saw of that game was a minute long clip that was basically third person shooter with scripted events up the a*s. That was the text book definition of generic. Dont get me wrong, game could have been good but if you call this generic (and it aint) then there is absolutely no case to be made for what we saw of SW 1313. ALPHA17
^ Meant it from a setting perspective. Now since Disney has retconned the story (to produce more movies), your playing field is limited to this era which will be showcased in the new films. Aftrunner
I really doubt they are limiting themselves because of directions from Disney or anything to do with the story. Its a MP game that lets you play with bots so most likely they arent doing things to fit with the cannon or anything like that. Lets face it, whatever is not there is being held back for DLC or because they didnt have time to make in the final game in which case again it will be DLC. And that is the problem, no more user generated content. Which was a big part of BattleField title, till a wild FROSTBITE appeared. I have listed that in the negatives for a reason. I really doubt they are limiting themselves because of directions from Disney or anything to do with the story. Its a MP game that lets you play with bots so most likely they arent doing things to fit with the cannon or anything like that. We are not going to have KoTOR's any more, nothing like Republic Commando either. Ironically both published by EA. We will no longer get iterative works of fiction that coexist within the universe because Disney have the final say on that now. Also, the launch of BattleFront will feature the free 'Battle of Jakku' DLC (if you pre-order) which sets up the opening of STAR WARS The Force Awakens. It is being tied into the story, so yeah! Canon.
