No the IW thing was different, they realised that MW is going to be milked like crazy and it will be same 2 yr cycle for a new churn.

They had better ideas, I think you know that Activision didn't want them to go Modern. They were happy with WW2.

You are just generalising things

It's not like every other indie game is super creative out there

 

Plus the fact that what these guys are doing now....was done years ago

They are just taking the benefit of advanced technology

 

It's just cheap & very little at stake now

 

 

 

AAA games need a whole different level of creativity

Take TLOU MP for example

 

That component wasn't pushed & promoted at all b4 the release

But they had to add that to prolong consumer interest

& it's clearly visible that limited time & budget was allocated to the MP component

 

But the amount of creative stuff they showed in their minimal efforts....is simply astonishing

It's also visible that the content generated was limited

The creativity & uniqueness of the MP alone makes ppl latch on to it for hrs & hrs

 

So saying that AAA games have lost creativity is really not an acceptable comment

It takes much more creativity then a 3-4 hr indie game

 

TitanFall is another example

 

Notice how they had to attach it to an extremely safe and guaranteed-hit SP? Giving one example doesn't make it any less true. Of course there are AAA stuff that take risks (for me, Assassin's Creed MP. again, same thing - attached to a guaranteed hit) but most of them do play it safe. This is widely regarded as true.

 

I don't even know why you would dispute this, unless you're not too familiar with Indie stuff? Btw length doesn't matter, enjoyment does.

 

Note I'm not saying Indie games are a rainbow of creativity. There are lots of problems in that area too, like the 'charming' 2D platformer explosion in the past few years. But, by-and-large, they are more likely to try things AAA developers won't go near.

Kamiya treats his followers like sh*t on twitter too but most of the reaction to his stuff is " f**king badass" " kamiya san, can i haz ur babiez" and fish gets smacked all around. He just comes across as a whiny bitch while kamiya is a plain a**hole.

 

Can't argue on the a**hole part but you do realize the kind of questions being put at him right ? The only bad thing he does his replying too many of them in a single day and mostly the choice of those tweets. Most of his replies are either smileys or half-liners since he's RT'ing all with his replies. The guy literally has a twitter session in the morning , afternoon and evening , everyday lol

 

While these 2 retards ( blow & fish ) just deserve all the sh*t they get , Kamiya only sticks to twitter for this kind of behaviour.

While fish deserves all the hate he gets, blow hasn't really done anything to be treated like sh*t. Most of his hate started when he questioned microsft's policies towards the indies and xbla and how hard it was to even put braid on the 360 and it just snowballed from there. Even gaben ripped sony a new one during the first couple of years of the ps3 and they actually worked with valve & made him eat his words and put him on their conference praising the ps3. Microsoft doing the same would be a bigger slap on their faces than some random idiots abusing them on twitter or wherever

 

One personal company on my shitlist is hello games, those idiots first made a game ( joe danger) exclusive to ps3 and few months down the line released it on xbox 360 and called their ps3 customers as beta testers. Then a year down the line released joe danger 2 exclusively on the x360 and said no ps3 plans right now only to release the game the very next week on psn with tons of additional free content and free on psn plus. :rofl:

Read my post, and what i meant by indie games can be more creative because they have more freedom.

they don't have to meet any sales expectations or anything. They can make w/e they want no questions asked. AAA devs have to meet publishers sales estimate and requirements.

I don't play many japanese games - in fact I can count them on one hand - but I've encountered the problem he said. Phantom Detective: Ghost Trick - such brilliant mechanics, but the first hour or so treats you like a complete retard.

 

I've only encountered this problem in one game - but then again, I don't play that many.

 

Yea its annoying definitely. Some games like Demon Souls,SF4 dont hold your hand , But saying games suck because the tutorial level is annoying? Yea ok , brilliant reasoning. and watch this vid , excellent video.

Look at the way they worded it , maybe they just didnt have the time to sit and release public modding tools. You think if Sony just came out and said MS games suck , people buying Xbox are retards. Everyone would stay quiet? hell fking no.

 

Hello, don't hide it under the rug that if DICE gives away MOD tools the number of peeps who will go for a total conversion MOD's or community developed content will eat into the DLC buying crowd because, hell yeah! Who does not like free content.

 

And I respect your stand that the Fish smells very bad but that is all, I don't go around like a headless chicken defending him or offending party X.

 

Finally, I request some MOD to please lock this thread down.
