Help connecting Xbox 360 to internet via wired broadband.

Hey guys,

I have an Xbox 360 Slim, and I need to connect to internet via my wired broadband connection (local cable wala broadband). I have a proper 1 mbps broadband connection (Syscon - Joister Broadband). It is just the broadband lan cable that is provided by the cable wala, which connects to my PC's lan port directly. No router.

I tried plugging the lan cable directly into my Xbox 360 Slim and trying to connect but it always gets stuck at "IP Address error" :(

I tried replicating the PPPOE settings on my PC into my Xbox. I put the username and password and the "Service Name" in Xbox 360 and also set the TCP/IP settings to "Automatic" just like on PC but still it would not connect.

Is there any way to connect it to internet without purchasing a wifi router ?

Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx a lot in advance :)

Try this

(Worked on my Tikona connection (never go for these buggers), when I didnt have a router)

1.Connect the RJ45 (LAN) connecter to your laptop/PC

2. Enter credentials on the login portal and start your broadband session.

3. Disconnect the LAN cable from your PC

4. Connect it to XBOX360 Slim

And have fun; hope this helps.

(Assuming the 2nd end of your connector is connected to a MODEM or POE switch)
