Recommended Posts

so I guess I'll have to download it then from the online shop. .. hardly any disk space left on the PS3's 40gb hdd...

any suggestions on the hdd upgrade from 40gb to whatever you guys suggest?

Once I upgrade, I could buy myself a ps+ membership too.

well, actually, its a she-brat!

but she loves cars, guns & swords! :P

...and we already have twisted metal, a bit too complex in my opinion, but I think I under estimate my daughter.

See people, now thats an awesome father. Not bogged down by pesky fears and having faith in his child.

Respect sir.

And have you tried need for speed hot pursuit? the relaunched title (2010 or 2011 I guess). It is very simple and adrenalin pumping. May look complex but thats just EA trying to look smart. It has good great graphics and tracks. Some might say to keep it away from a 6 yr old due to the game's depiction of crashes, but you seem to be a sensible guy who wont buy in this 'soccer-mom' stereotype. See some videos and decide yourself.

Motor storm pacific rift is a good title too. Off roading epic!!

Joe danger 2 and f1 race stars are both there on ps store. You might not find their physical copy because they are not some big game titles. Just simple and fun to play..

get joe danger (it was annoyingly long load times though)

get Smash Cars,it is on PC as well, it is $2 on Steam right now, my son loves it so much that I had to buy it for the laptop as well since it was getting impossible to use the the TV for anything else but his gaming sessions :P

I don't think Move/steering are supported, but Burnout Paradise is open world reckless fun. I have a friend whose 4 year old son plays it using the Xbox controller on PC.

thanks for your acknowledgement Nemo!

I am a very protective father nonetheless, I keep my baby safe from consumer television (read as eat all you want cable TV) and would rather she keep herself in tune with actual reality (all electronic gadgets included)!

Sports & games, hip hip hurrah!

I guess I'm really going to have to find a way to upgrade my PS3's HDD from the cramped up 40 GB it has now, every time i have to install a new game, I have to free up space by uninstalling something or the other. Let me know if there's a thread here that shows me how please.

Secondly, I must buy myself a PS+ membership online.

one question though, Incase I buy a game online and download it (like I had done for tekken 6), will I lose it when I make my hardware update, the HDD in this case (I'm thinking of upgrading to the highest HDD capacity possible/allowed by PS3)?

The games all seem like winners, especially LBP & All Star F1... I have my online shopping carts full, and I also am getting a feeling that I'm going to be hurting my wallet's feelings very soon :P

You can make a backup and replace the hdd with any laptop 2.5 inch hdd in 5 minutes straight.

I think I'll be taking a lot more time than that bro!

excluding the time im spending to research ot here :P

there's not much I can find here on this forum on the subject of upgrading / replacing the PS3 HDD.

BTW, thanks all for the inputs on the games... i want to get em all after I get the new HDD> pls bail me out on this.

  • 2 weeks later...

Alrighty guys, I just upgraded my PS3 HDD to a Seagate 750GB (from the former 40GB stock). Much ado about nothing frankly, Was a cake walk indeed.

Thanks for all the help.

Now, it's time to load up that free space with what the PS3 is meant for.

I have a load of game demos on download.. Looks like my Airtel FUP limit is exhausted and the DLs are pretty slow.. I do not intend on topping up with only a few days left to the billing cycle to restart.

I realised that I am registered on the PS Hong Kong online store site; I did it years ago after some good advice from fellow gamers on this forum, in order to download Tekken Dark Resurrection :P

Not sure if I can change that to its Indian counterpart, does PS have an Indian online store, and can I (should I?)

shift to it if I want?

I checked out the PS+ store and it seems like fun.. Just one clarification though about those "free" games on PS+ : are they "free" only till the validity of the PS+ subscription, or can they be continued to be used (played) even after the subscription expires? Was thinking of taking a 30 day membership and trying it out first.

Oh, btw, LBP Karting is not free on the PS+ site (anymore?). Boo hoo.

I guess I'd prefer buying stuff off the online stores rather than CDs since I'd have them all stored on the device ready to play, as opposed to changing CDs.

Also, where on earth can I get "F1 All Stars" for the PS3?

@ ^^

There is a Indian PS store...U can shift your acc to indian store...

U have to create a new id...

Once plus expires the free games stops working..

LBP Karting is still free on PS Plus..

U can buy Fi All Stars on PS store..It was free for Plus few months back..

So if I do make changes, or as u suggest, create a new ID, will I lose all the games I purchased and installed on the PS3 from that previous ID?

Can't I just pretend that I moved to India now from HK and just made a few changes in order to access the Indian PS network? Hmm?
