Keano
So, I have a US Steam account and I see that the Indian prices are much lower during sales. Can I make a new Indian steam account and use my Indian payment instruments to buy games? Is there a steam policy where they wont allow me to buy games from Indian store and play in North America? edit: to explain further: I am planning to create a new steam ID and add games to wishlist and let one of my friends in India buy the games for me. This way the steam account will have Indian billing address and the game are bought in India. I can add it as a secondary ID and play the games from outside India. Is this a red flag for any of the Steam policies?
ALPHA17
^ As long as you can maintain an Indian payment system to transact, you can run with that. I think the only exceptions to this rule are games that are region locked to run in certain regions only. So be wary of those. Do not use VPN's though, that is against STEAM T&C. Engineer
Windows XP and Windows Vista Support Starting on January 1 2019, Steam will officially stop supporting the Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems. This means that after that date the Steam Client will no longer run on those versions of Windows. In order to continue running Steam and any games or other products purchased through Steam, users will need to update to a more recent version of Windows. The newest features in Steam rely on an embedded version of Google Chrome, which no longer functions on older versions of Windows. In addition, future versions of Steam will require Windows feature and security updates only present in Windows 7 and above. For the remainder of 2018 Steam will continue to run and to launch games on Windows XP and Windows Vista, but other functionality in Steam will be somewhat limited. For example, new features such as the new Steam Chat will not be available. We encourage all users on these operating systems to upgrade to newer versions of Windows in order to have ongoing access to the latest features of Steam, and to ensure future access to all games and other Steam content. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1558-AFCM-4577
