Rise of the Tomb Raider

Played quite a bit of this game.

I think the environment and the exploration is slightly better and now that we have got over it being Uncharted like so those killing does not feel out of place but what really seems bad is how clumsy controlling Lara feels.

Is it just me or others feel that too?Or may be it is got to do with FPS and all.

Nope controlling Lara is fine with me when I use my Xbox One controller with a usb cable.

i didn't have any issues.. felt just like the first game ..

By clumsy i mean ...she is not that quick in her movements...like old lara used to literally run when i moved the analog to make her walk one had to use some button ...this one walks very clumsy ...the moves are not fluid i mean.

Btw was hoping dual gun will return...still not in this game....

The villain is kind of interesting. The rest is "press forward to play".

Beautiful vistas and really remarkable graphics in this. Spent more time looking at murals on the walls and the light reflections than paying any attention to the actual story.

Story is nothing special but voice acting by both Camilla Luddington and the guy who play Konstantine is quite good..

You can try it on pc.. The xbone version had some control latency issue. That could be the reason for poor experience

I don't know what's this input lag issue people are talking about. I completed the game on Survivor difficulty along with Gold score attack challenge without any issues.. Trigger, Akkster nd all completed the game on Xbox without experiencing any game breaking input lag..

Try updating the controller software from system settings and increase aim sensitivity from in-game options menu, see if it fixes the issue. Some people on TR forums said changing Xbox power settings to energy saving mode fixed the input lag for them. I have switched power settings to energy saving mode and noticed faster loading in some games with better frame-rate...Gears UE and Gears 3 runs better now in energy saving mode than instant-On.

Xbox OS is a mess and causes some weird issues in games like Dying Light Following runs better in energy saving mode than instant-On :P

No issues here.. Must be some issue on your end. Character animation is much better than first game. I recently played Definitive edition and platforming is not as good as ROTR imo..That entire game is not as good as ROTR..First hour is full of QTEs and scripted set pieces. It was very hard for me to go back to TR after playing ROTR.

On what graphics settings and resolution you are playing the game? GTX 750ti is struggling to maintain even 30fps in some benchmark videos

If you are having issues then you should switch to PC immediately. Higher frame-rate on PC will definitely help.

Though game is quite demanding on PC and will require some major tweaking to get 60fps.

Can the GTX 970 and R9 390 handle Rise of the Tomb Raider maxed at 1080p60? The answer's no - this game is demanding, trashing our budget PC on console equivalent settings. You'll need a quad-core processor and a GTX 960 to beat the Xbox One experience, and GTX 970 to hit 1080p60

try 900p maybe?

nahi yaar...wahi thik hai...kyuon there was hardly any different in FPS even after dropping to 720p...ab aur kya bolu.

Btw kinda not liking this game now....iss mein bhi tombs optional hogaya ab...i hate it when i get that info ..optional tombs near by....arey bc....She is an explorer....killing those people and hunting should be optional...tomb exploring should be main thing.

I feel old TR game ..old Tr game tha....i was hoping after 1 they would get seriously back to original way the game played but dont think that is happening.

I honestly wish i had the money to buy the rights of this game and show them how TR game should be made.

Rise of the Tomb Raider PC outsold Xbox One digital 3:1 in launch month – report

Not surprising. Digital on PC is generally much higher than Digital on console.

Infact aside from a few countries, retail at PC barely exists.

Tombs will remain optional as not many don't like doing them. Square Enix will not allow CD to make classic TR style games now...ROTR maintains good balance between action and Tomb exploring.. First game forced you into action but this game gives you enough time to explore and play at your own pace.

There are 9 tombs total and few crypts. Complete them all.

It felt really at right place in the starting...but now that i am back to taking down those people and all ...its just like TR1 ..

^^Funny thing is that he liked TR Reboot which was nothing like classic TR games :P

He is mad at ROTR coz it was timed Xbox exclusive. I know it :spank::chair:

Because its feeling back to TR1....i mean not even dual gun from the start...in TR1 in the end she helds DUal gun ..its the most iconic thing...i was really sure it will come back to this game along with exploration as prime focus...yeha toh bc back to take down those guys...survive...kill deer and all....kya hai...bc hardly any basic renovation in gameplay.

She is back to doing same thing...finding parts to strength her bow and arrow...arey kar liya na TR1 mein....phir se bc ek ek cheeze update karo.

So, you want to see her in shorts with dual guns? :P

First game was pure action shooter with not much exploration. How can you like that over this one? Exploration is big part of ROTR but they allow you to ignore it on easy difficulty if you want.. And i don't think they can force gamers to do exploration part first to progress in story...Those who never played classic TR games will not enjoy if they went back to old formula. TR Reboot was best selling TR game..This shows market is now changed and there is no place for classic TR games.

It's a sequel of first game dude..You seriously expect them to completely change the gameplay for sequel? You think Gears 4 and UC 4 will have completely different gameplay from past games?

Finished it...had to power through it from about the 2nd hour to the ending of game...it was boring as fk, simply no drive to finish it or even go for the option objectives/tombs etc

Iam quite addicted to the Endurance mode. Me and 2 of my friends on Live are constantly competing with each other and trying to beat each others Endurance survival score.

Recorded short videos of Endurance mode :P

^HD option is available.Unfortunately it's only 720p as XboxDVR only captures video @ 720p and not native 1080p.

Mohit

If you want pure exploration with hardcore survival gameplay then try Endurance mode :D

I doubt that kind of game would actually sell right now. The game needs to evolve and the series definitely did a bit from the first game with the crafting and the optional tombs. They didn't take any risk and played it safe. If that keeps the series afloat, m happy

Is not that anachronistic considering everyone (original following) panned HITMAN Absolution for being a damp squib and wants the new games in the franchise to return to its roots.

Not saying this will work in every franchise but flippantly dismissing a product because it sticks to its roots is jumping to conclusions.
