WhiteWolf
Hitman Absolution was universally criticized by fans and critics but ROTR is universally praised by critics and fans alike. User reviews are extremely positive for ROTR on GAF, Reddit, Steam and official TR forums. Finally Absolution metacritic is 78 and ROTR 87. There is no reason for CD to change the formula coz people who are criticizing the game are in minority.. Some of them are hating the game without even playing it and some are hating coz it was timed exclusive to Xbox. Steam reviews http://store.steampowered.com/app/391220/ And we will see how much New Hitman will sell by going back to BM formula. I bet it will sell worst then Absolution coz of their stupid pricing structure. Resident Evil needs to go back to it's roots coz modern RE games suck but modern TR games are great and there is no need to change them. I don't want to play classic TR style game after playing modern TR games.
ALPHA17
Even HITMAN Absolution holds a very positive rating on STEAM.
WhiteWolf
I also mentioned other big gaming sites like GAF and Reddit Absolution was not universally praised like other SE games DeusEX and ROTR.. I personally was not a hater like everyone else but it was not my favorite Hitman game. BM remains my fav..Hitman game.

KnackChap
It felt really at right place in the starting...but now that i am back to taking down those people and all ...its just like TR1 .. Because its feeling back to TR1....i mean not even dual gun from the start...in TR1 in the end she helds DUal gun ..its the most iconic thing...i was really sure it will come back to this game along with exploration as prime focus...yeha toh bc back to take down those guys...survive...kill deer and all....kya hai...bc hardly any basic renovation in gameplay. She is back to doing same thing...finding parts to strength her bow and arrow...arey kar liya na TR1 mein....phir se bc ek ek cheeze update karo. yeah this is like my biggest problem with the game so far. its like god of war where your powers are taken from you right at the start and you get new powers as you progress. but here there are new moves or powers instead you get basic things like a handgun, assault rifle etc. i mean the first enemy you encounter starts firing at you but you dont get a gun till much later. same with assault rifle which is given to you in a cutscene enough though enemies keep giring from them much earlier. then you have the rope arrows which unlocks after a certain moment (unrelated to the item) in the story. this is something utterly stupid cause 1. all it takes is a rope and arrow which is abundantly avb. 2. lara already used it in the previous game so its not something she learns here 3. makes you needlessly backtrack to areas already visited area to complete something. DinJo
Finished it...had to power through it from about the 2nd hour to the ending of game...it was boring as fk, simply no drive to finish it or even go for the option objectives/tombs etc Same here really had no fun in playing completed the game last night will play baba yaga DLC

There are places where you have option to cut Soviet flags...when i went there to cut it...it asks me to get a sharp knife..now all this time Lara has been using her arrow to cut thick deer and bear skins but cant cut a small thin rope use to hang a flag with that arrow....basic gameplay is missing lot of things. I doubt that kind of game would actually sell right now. The game needs to evolve and the series definitely did a bit from the first game with the crafting and the optional tombs. They didn't take any risk and played it safe. If that keeps the series afloat, m happy I am not saying TR1 was bad...its just that they have repeated the same thing....we are upgrading same stuff from the start we did in TR1. It makes no sense to keep doing same thing in every game coming out in the series.
WhiteWolf
^She lost all her gear in that Avalanche. Beginning skip kardi tuney game ki ? I am not saying TR1 was bad...its just that they have repeated the same thing....we are upgrading same stuff from the start we did in TR1. They are keeping that Metroidvania style gameplay still intact, where you need certain equipment to access certain locked areas on the map. People like this style of gameplay a lot and i don't think they will change it.. It makes no sense to keep doing same thing in every game coming out in the series. ROTR is only the second game in new TR series..If they repeat same formula again without making any major changes to gameplay then people will get burned out on it.. Your beloved game series is also doing same stuff forever without making any significant changes in gameplay but you never seem to complaint about it. You should see all games with same critical lens.

That's game logic for you. ROTR is hardly the first game where this happens. Imagine how weird it is that you can't break down barely standing doors in some games but can lift up really heavy fallen logs of 15 inches or more diameter. KnackChap
because the game makes a big deal about it. for e.g you get to throw empty bottles to distract enemies right at the start, ( a completely useless feature btw ) but hours later lara see another bottle and a piece in f cloth in a cutscene and boom you can make molotov now. repeat for basic stuff like assault rifle, rope launcher etc.

Aloy
Realism and fun are inversely proportional to each other. It's a fact.No game can escape this fact.

Heaven Angel
Rise of the Tomb Raider will receive Cold Darkness Awakened, its final slice of extra content, on the 29th March. That date applies to the Xbox and PC versions of the game - you'll be able to pick up the pack either via the Xbox Marketplace, Steam or Windows 10 stores. Season Pass holders will get it for free. Its standalone price has yet to be announced. Cold Darkness Awakened adds a new wave-based combat mode to the game where, as Lara Croft, you must fight off groups of infected enemies.
