ALPHA17
Ye sab toh Xbox aur PS par bhi ... How do they have BIG PICTURE mode? And do XBox and PS have free customisation features, like unique community made skins and templates or you have to purchase that stuff? I'm sure Steam users will thank OneFour when it comes to the Steam. We are doing fine, thank you very much, won't say no but there is no pressing need for the same. ALPHA17
Big picture mode was designed keeping controllers in mind. And the living room. That's simply PC catching up with consoles for you That is simply PC showing how versatile it is as a platform. We can use your controllers and can you use keyboard and mouse? Getting a cheap laugh is easy.

devil_angel
So, me playing a game from my sisters laptop is illegal. No, but you sharing your steam account with Me and other forum members would be illegal.
Ph3N0M
You need a converter, we don't need any converter for your peripherals (or equivalents of the same). PS3 has USB 2.0 ports, but one two of them.
ALPHA17
No need to get butthurt bro. You said that consoles don't have big picture mode. The point is that they no need one. I was simply replying to that. Do consoles have SMALL PICTURE mode to manipulate with keyboard and mouse? And why would anyone need to use KB and mouse on consoles? lol I'm sorry but that's just dumb. Smartglass ( and now kinect) and sony's mobile app is enough for all navigation related stuff. Better than keyboard and mouse even. I can see so many games use it, so many. Meanwhile on PC we have, Oculus Rift and ARAIG haptic suits (failed Kickstarter). PS3 has USB 2.0 ports, but one two of them. What is this then? PS3 Eagle eye mouse and keyboard converter. I got here from this topic a on PS forum. ALPHA17
You are spinning things according to your own twisted logic. KB and Mouse are ancient input devices. That ancient device is the reason your games are running in the first place. This fragmentation happens only on PC. Not on consoles. Because on PC's we have the choice, on consoles you don't. PERIOD. STEAM started on PC and BIG PICTURE only came into the picture (pun intended) because it makes things easier for everyone, you still have a choice to switch between various 'skins', templates to customise how you want STEAM to look and behave on your PC. Ph3N0M
What is this then? PS3 Eagle eye mouse and keyboard converter. I got here from this topic a on PS forum. He was saying that CS:GO on PS3 is playable with KB/M, to which you said that it would require outside converters, to which I replied that you don't, as you can use the PS3's USB ports and since CS:GO natively supports KB/M on PS3. That native support depends on the developers, and most developers decide not to support KB/M in their PS3 games, which is where that converter thing comes in, as you can use it to map your PS3 controller's buttons onto KB/M, tricking the PS3 into thinking that it is actually a USB controller being used. Anyway, on topic, there may be instances when "play as you download" can be useful, especially if it's not a pre-load/pre-order game, and I can see Valve adding it soon. But regardless of that, Steam IS as complete a package as it gets, when it comes to digital clients.

ALPHA17
Running on what? Consoles? Nope. Yeah! Yeah! Next generation developers for your games will work from iPad's. Having a choice is not exactly a good thing all the time. Look at GTA 5 I could not care less about GTA V coming late on PC's, the experience will be better graphically and control wise. Not to say, a lot of good titles never show up on consoles and I prefer my RPG's, RTS's, indie's to MFxXxXxXxshooting-dudes-in-the-face-so-real-X!!! DUDE BRO edition (with open world and extra map packs for $15).
Ph3N0M
Also, Steam needs to improve it's offline compatibility. Try being offline for a couple of weeks, and it stops working(much like the initial policy on XB1, only a little more relaxed in that it waits much more than 24 hours), giving the error message that: Unable to connect to the Steam network. 'Offline Mode' is unavailable because there is no Steam login information stored on this computer. You will not be able to use Steam until you can connect to the Steam network again. With consoles, one can be offline for as much as possible.
Ph3N0M
PS3 supports keyboard & mouse by default Both through USB & Bluetooth Can be used for gaming aswell But the whole point of PC can use controllers & XB can't use KBM is as idiotic as Mr. Bean doing an IQ quiz with Stephen Hawking No one would want to even if given an option Man, how do you make such lines? And can you please inform which games on PS3 support keyboard/mouse without an external converter?

But regardless of that, Steam IS as complete a package as it gets, when it comes to digital clients.Agree with first part. On second, valve will get to learn a lot of things from consoles for DDLs. In fact, next gen of consoles will have a lot of focus on digital, they will find innovative ways to sideline traditional retailers. So, - Play as you download feature - Digital game sharing(if makes its way to Xbone) - Premium sub models (PS+ insta game collection, or free games for GOLD on Xbox) Are going to create a positive impact on DDLs on consoles, and Steam may like to take a note of that. Man, how do you make such lines? And can you please inform which games on PS3 support keyboard/mouse without an external converter? and I haven't tried it since Blade but KBM works on 360 UI too. Useless anyway.
