Alpha

I've been thinking about what you said in the watch dogs thread, can you tell me an estimate on how much longer would I have to wait and how much would I have to inflate my budget possibly moving on from that config??

Yup I haven't bought anything yet but yeah that config was supposed to be my final build in theory..

September-October time frame would be best.

You would not need to increase your budget, or at-least not significantly because of the Rupee appreciating vis-á-vis US$.

What's the best mousepad i can get for 500 bucks?

Would this be good for Cooler Master CM Storm Recon USB Mouse?

Steelseries QCK Mousepad

You might find this a little too small though. I would suggest you get a Razer Goliathus (speed edition) or Roccat Sense.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Y510 was in my radar last year. Had a chance to play with it in a local best buy.The keyboard is shitty and so is the laptop display. And I stopped there. Did things change?

But then again other than the Asus G750 and MSI dominator series, I havent seen any of the sager laptops in person. EVER. reason why i am scared 110% in plonking 2700 USD into it. :(:(

I am actively looking at cragslist for a cheap Xbox or PlayStation setup.

True, true, I am not sure if the build quality has improved but the basics under the hood are quite competitive.

Would asking anything about the upgrade in performance of the newer graphic cards at the moment would be speculation? right?

Depends on what the newly released graphic cards are capable of. At-least the mid-range and high-end replacements.

Entry level nVidia Maxwell hardware (GTX750Ti) is only a partial step up in the efficiency department and lags in raw performance vis-á-vis older hardware.

If you have a twitter handle you can tweet this to Aditya Infotech / Sapphire. Bring the pressure to bear and get this sorted out. Try the same on facebook as well.

I have RMA-ed only two things, an MSi graphic card (whose replacement came boxed, not sealed) and my processor (this was posted to my correspondence address, sealed).

So this return of un-boxed cards can mean either of two things,

  • Aditya Infotech no longer replaces cards, it tries to repair / refurbish and return.
  • You are getting the same old card you file for RMA. Maybe, with or without any work carried out on it.

Also, does the card completely open, as in without even a basic anti-static bag on it?

Well, the RMA scene in India for many GPU manufacturers is not exactly a very pretty picture. Repair is their first option, and replacements are often just repaired cards. No new box, nothing.

after much yelling and strong words my wait is over ...........so today aditya infotech replaced my card with a new HD 7870 2gb :clap3: and its working fine so far!!

Is there a region why the MSI twin frozr GTX 770 4GB int available in India/online. It seems like a good cheaper alternative to R9 290.

Out of stock maybe.

And it won't be cheaper than the R9-290 when available, not by a long shot.

Hey guys,

Can you recommend a PC with a dual monitor setup?

Two of these: Dell s2240l so that would be about 18k alone, should i consider any other monitors?

I won't be playing any games but would like a SSD based system.

Budget around 30k? excluding the monitors.

Thanks

Go for the following configuration,

Intel Core i5 4430

GIGABYTE-B85M-D3H

Corsair / G.Skill 4GB x1 1600MHz RAM (add more RAM later)

Seasonic S12II 520W (if you want something less powerful, consider the 430W variant of the same)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 / Western Digital Blue Edition 1TB

HP / ASUS (boxed) optical drive

Cooler Master N200

Hope this helps, Cheerio!
