My Samsung Tv's Hdmi went kaput when the technician opened the Tv and saw the motherboard, he asked if I had hot swapped it which I had been doing for a while. He said never to do that on any brand of Tv's if its Hdmi input.
ALPHA17
^ That is nice of him, so did he change the HDMI-IN port or the entire PCB had to be swapped out?

MB had to replaced since all modern Tv's have video inputs on the PCB and cannot repaired separately.

yatin509
Hey, <a href="https://ibb.co/g06PLo"><img src="https://thumb.ibb.co/g06PLo/error.png" alt="error" border="0"></a> https://ibb.co/g06PLo I am getting this update error on my laptop since last couple of months. I have tried a lot of things but to avail - including manual downloading but it says not supported for all files I downloaded(I am not a tech expert). What should I do to correct this? Thanks Edited May 20, 2018 by yatin509
NitroNeo
My brother is building a PC, his requirements are Coding/Programming & gaming, here is it's config, Cabinet: Cooler Master masterbox lite 5 RGB Motherboard: Asus ROG Z370-F Gaming Graphic card: GTX 1060 3gb Processor: Intel I5 8400 Ram: TridentZ 16GB HDD: 1TB WD blue SMPS: Coisair VS 550 Is the motherboard good ? Also there are a few changes we feel need to be done, first of all is 1060 3G good or should it be replaced with another nvidia or amd card, max budget for it will be around 22k same as 1060 3G max price. Secondly i feel i5 8400 should be replaced by 8500, WD blue should be replaced with black, please suggest good ram of 2666 mhz frequency as OC ram is not needed. Also suggest a PSU fr upto 7K [ no seasonic as it comes with a 2 pin cable] Which SSD should he buy for Rs.5500 ? Which CPU Cooler to get CM 212 or Noctua U12S or U14S max cooler budget Rs.5500, for U14S cabinet should be changed
Aftrunner
Opinions on Hyperx Cloud? I need to replace my aging Sennheiser. Would prefer a good audio headphone. Looking at Sennheiser HD 280 and Audio technica ATH m40x as alternatives. Closed back only.
Aftrunner
I only need it for gaming though. Rarely some movies. Almost never any music.
Aftrunner
Hmm. How are they in comparison to an actual audio headphone though. Any idea? I am super wary of getting a gaming headphone.

Also, keep an eye out for SteelSeries Arctis range of headsets. Good choices overall with a slightly lighter and more delicate frame. Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M-D3H mATX (No need for Z series, if it's not K series processor which allows overclocking) Graphic card: GTX 1060 3gb (Opt for 6GB instead, Much better when VRAM hungry AAA gaming on 1080p or 1440p) Processor: Intel I5 8400 / 8500 (based on the budget) Ram: TridentZ 16GB (Opt this if RGB lighting and 3000+ MHz is priority, Otherwise save few buck by getting 2400MHz corsair or gskill 2x8GB variants) HDD: 1TB WD blue (Or seagate equivalent, opt for 7200 RPM driver either way) (Add a 240GB SSD or 256GB NVMe SSD if budget permits) SMPS: Coisair VS 550 (RM or HX series, if 550W option available? full modular and better power efficiency)

The MasterBox Lite has a completely closed off front panel. That motherboard is overkill, I would suggest a cheaper B360 or H370 alternative. Alternatively I would suggest an AMD Ryzen 5 based build as well, replacing the Intel components with, AMD Ryzen 5 2600 ASUS Strix B350-F This build will allow you to overclock the RAM, overclock the CPU and overall have a longer tail than the Intel build for sure. Also, bundled cooler would be decent for light overclocking as long as room ambient temperatures are good. Stick with getting an nVidia GTX1060 6GB, the 3GB is a pointless SKU. And swap that PSU for the Seasonic M12II 520W /620W, please. For the SSD you can go with a Kingston UV400 240GB SSD or Samsung's 750 EVO of an equivalent capacity.

If you are planning to buy a Hyper X Cloud, get the one with volume control. Sound is decent-good. But for me I find the headband-ear cup a little tight for my liking. But it's good aye. Personally I'm not a fan of the headband style used in Steelseries headsets. I don't know about Arctis (though I've heard of poor quality cords and ear cups) but I didn't like their Siberia headsets. Poor mic (like horribly bad) and average sound quality. I've used Siberia v1, v2 and Hyper X Cloud headset (without volume control model) in the cafes which I go to. I'm with you on not getting a gaming -branded headset. I suggest you get a normal audio headset and if it doesn't have mic you can buy a mic separately. I plan to do the same when I buy it. While I'm at it, gaming stuff nowadays seem to be mostly about the design and bling bling. I liked the older products much better, Corsair Vengeance 1300, Razer Carcharias for example. NitroNeo
Thanks alpha, the intial config was given to my brother when he went to lamington. So some parts like the vs550 were thrown in by the shop person.I have the seasonic m12ii 750 psu on my pc but it does not support hibernate or the sleep function, when i checked online i found that it only supports those modes till 4th gen, for skylake it doesn't. Also seasonic supplies a 2 pin power cable and my seasonic psu died with a PHUT noise because of a voltage spike which is a occurrence sometimes during rainy and summer season. So is there any good corsair 600-650 alternative for 7k?And he wont spend 28k on a 1060 6G, is there a AMD card for about 22kSent from my SM-N9208 using Tapatalk

Alternatively, if you want a different option, look at the Corsair RM series or Cooler Master's V series PSUs. 14 hours ago, NitroNeo said: And he wont spend 28k on a 1060 6G, is there a AMD card for about 22k 2 Purchase the 1060 6GB directly from nVidia India then, would be cheaper and would be less of a headache, and no, I know not of any AMD card retailing at its stated MSRP. They are all over the place thanks to mining. Alternately, give me some time, will network you with someone who can arrange the card at a more palatable price point. Cheers! NitroNeo
@alpha thanks man, i do use a belkin spike guard and now i bought a 3 pin cable for the seasonic psu.He is on a cost cutting mode now as his 80k budget including the monitor is going overboard, i have given him your ryzen config and the PSUs you guys mentioned.
