Go for an AMD proccy and a 780 based motherboard. It has the best IGP in a tight price range. Plus decent upgrade options for later as well.

Also unless you already have it chuck the 4 GB Ram to 2GB and invest the money you save to get the best processor in your budget.

Thanks for the help people. What about the 790gx based boards?

Does the LAN on the desktop show connected when the connection drops? Could be a bad ethernet cable or bad NIC port. Try swapping the cable.

OT: Hi panthelon. :wub:

nope it does not say connected, don't think it is the NIC card or cable, i restart and it works fine for an hour or so again before conking out again.

What do you have to do to get it connected again?

I am guessing both the Laptop and the PS3 are wifi connections. If you wanna be certain that its not your Ethernet cable then plug that into the laptop and see if the connection drops.

You could try resetting the TCP IP stack if nothing else works.

Disabling IPV6 would help if you're using a connection based on IPv6. Would suggest you to look at the power options for the ethernet adaptor under power management. If this is a new occurrence you can try system restore.

@Afty: Hey dude...Wassup???
