m-JeRi
i never had any problems with my X-Fi in any windows OS i.e. XP/Vista/7.......... which drivers u use fr vista/ 7 ???... My issue in 7 now is i have no sound from rear left and rear right... in the console where we test the channel the sound comes through front... rewired it 3 times.... in XP no issue.... in vista also sometimes this..or the channels mix up..but a rewire solves it... but my h/w channel test are always corect... Guys i have this big problem with my PC......couple of months back i had got this problem that my system used to get freeze and every time it froze i had to restart the computer . Due to this problem i could not tart any application on the system as it always froze while the application(or any software) was running. So i reformated my PC but i did not remove the D and E drive( HD partition). Now the problem is that after even re formating the PC the problem has not gone and even now the PC freezes. So my question is that is this a kind of virus that was there in a file which was not removed during the reformating .........or......... is there a problem in my Hard Disk ??????????????????? ??.... freezing could happen due to Proccy/RAM/HDD... or even something else... Aftrunner
RMA it. Heatsink is probably faulty. Sapphire 4850 have this issue from what I have read.

Snake
The 4800 series do have the heat issue...ask him to remount the cooler or get another custom cooler for it!!!
john117
@snake: can you suggest some good custom cooler for sapphire hd 4850 ..
Snake
Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev2 is the best one available, but i insist u first remount the heatsink and try again..before going in for a cooler..also clean it properly...even a little bit of dust will mess up the temps
Aftrunner
Guys I need some recommendations. My current Philips headphones for the PC have crapped out. I need a replacement for them. 1 Should be available locally 2 Should be comfortable 3 A Mic would be nice to have but not necessary 4 Will be mostly used for gaming and movies. Almost no music. So clear crisp sound is a must. Budget 3k. Any ideas?

dullu
Hi All, Is the Intel Pentium D 950 SL9QB compatible with the old Intel D101GGC2 mobo? I googled tons around, but while the intel site does not list the mobo (perhaps coz it has been discontinued) as one for the said processor, other sites do show the processor to be compatible with the mobo. Any advise would be useful and appreaciated. Also if it is of any concern, i am running on a 400W SMPS...... Thanks a ton... Any ideas? dont go for seinheiser low cost seins are way overrated. instead get philps shp-2700 i bought it for 1400 bucks 6 months back and they are still going strong . Sound quality is pretty good .. comes with 3meter long cable. Only negative being it doesnt come with a mic .Look around a bit u shud be able to get them for 1000-1200 bucks. if you can get it imported(read friend returning from US) then these are best bang for buck .. Grado -SR60 cost- 69$ .. even i am eyeing grado's sr220 for quite some time but they cost 180$ .. here read some of the customer reviews http://www.amazon.com/Grado-60-SR-60-Padde...howViewpoints=1 also checkout head-fi.org for anything u wanna know about headphones and earphones. Aftrunner
You are not gonna beleive this. You know the Philips headphones which crapped out on me leading me to make that post? They were SHP 2700. Pretty decent headphones though and would buy them again. Only thing is I was hoping for some sort of a minor upgrade now.

supersim
hey guys I m looking to buy a laptop soon. Will go for either dell or HP. Hmm is there any new lappies entering the market soon? My budget is max 60 k. and should I wait for windows 7 ?
Panthelon
^^ Main purpose of the laptop? Under 60k, you could squeeze a Dell XPS 1640 (Stuido XPS 16) or an XPS 1340 (Studio XPS 13), and you can easily get a Studio 15 or an Inspiron 15 as well. Also, Windows 7 is scheduled to release on Oct 29th and even sooner to OEMs.
