AtheK
@raghav -- the core 2 duo proc in that config is the sux. Â Quad core is a good idea if you are investing on a high end PC, yes i7 is not optimized for gaming but more on server side, but that does not make it less apt for gaming as a matter of fact i5 though optimized for gaming will still be a weaker proc compared to i7. its more to cut cost, the cheapest i5 will cost around 200$ where as cheapest i7 is 280$. Â I will suggest you going for a gaimg rig either go with what yesh suggested or you hold on to i7 or else 1 yr down the lane you will say your proc is outdated(dude that proc just has 3 Mb L2 cache )

~--YeSH--~
^^ even babloos said that i should wait for i5 if i wanna buy an icore proccy.. Â so i5 > i7 for gaming ? :P Â Â theoretically .. NO Â practically .. YES ... Â i5 extreme edition shud cost u around 550$$ .... and i5 reasonable one @270$ ....i5 entry level @179$(confirmed) Â preliminary benchmarks stated that i5 entrylevel is better than i7 920 .... Â since it use socket LGA1156 something(not sure) .. mobos are also kept at least cost.... Â but Id say ....better go for a mid-range X4 940 or quad Q9400 which will serve for atleast 5-6+ yrs
