Try a differant version of display drivers for your GPU.

Mine had the annoying problem of tearing in the middle of the screen and that fixed it.

Regarding power fluctuations and desktop PCs -

How do I ensure my PC will be safe from power fluctuations? Would a good quality UPS (APC for example) keep me protected from power fluctuations, or should I be looking for a seperate voltage regulator part? What do you guys use? Thanks in advance.

spike guard (

good quality

This is probably a stupid question but I figure I better ask it just to be sure. I am buying RAM for my sisters Laptop tommorow from Nehru place. Is there anything I should know before hand? Any particular brands?

I am totally at sea when it comes to laptops. She has a Toshiba BTW.

Did it today. Worked like a charm. Lappy RAM is cheap too, 2 GB cost me 1300 Rs. :)

A year ago when I checked it was twice that price.

Thanks guys.

yup it has, good for consumers.

today i went to a place to get some PC stuff . there a person taking out estimates of assembled PCs. so i also told him to calculate estimate for the config i was thinking. there were certain prob with them can anybody help.

1. when i told to him select GPU as 4890 he said which one u want saphire of gfx ? WTH is this and is there difference between the two.

2. then he selected DX58 SO as motherboard but when i said to select it as MSX Platinum he told that there are no service center for that motherboard so if it gets damaged then u will be in trouble (but was offering me 5yr warranty). is there really so .. and do these get damaged easily.
