Windows 7 beta or RC is known to have compatibility issues with Nvidia or ATI drivers. If u have lower framerates goto nvidia control panel, try turning off AntiAliasing, Triple Buffering, Vertical Sync or if this settings doesn't work , try to restore settings or wait for newer drivers to come.U can go back to Vista as well. MarketTantrik
^^ On the contrary, Win 7 helps boost performance in games over Windows Vista. And nVidia's Win7 drivers are pretty solid.

Windows 7 RC is somewhat stable,we know that, but its early to say that windows 7 has performance advantage over vista when it comes to nvidia drivers or any apps.I had issues with windows 7 in 8 series,my system used to crash everytime until i removed my graphics card........But for me Windows Vista is the best OS up to date until windows 7 final build shows.I've been using it for years and its 100% more stable than XP. Just a thought

Just a thought Its not too early for performance comparisons. I have been using Win7 for nearly 5 months now, first the Beta and then the RC. Its performance advantage over Win Vista is easily noticeable in general usage and even more pronounced in games. This is even though I am only using a MacBook Pro and not some super duper gaming rig.

Grimmjow
a 9600GT should be able to handle AC at max at that reso though
Aftrunner
a 9600GT should be able to handle AC at max at that reso though Not maxxed out, though it should work with most stuff on medium-high. Upping the AA and AF hits the performance pretty hard. Same goes for draw distance and detail level.
