Solitaire
hit windows key + R. type mmc and press enter. There you'll see diskmgmt under the files tab. Click that. Right click whichever HDD you wanna operate on. Hope that helps.
Dienekes
But disk management only works for partitions up to 32GB. On Windows, you can't format a hdd to fat32 greater then 32GB, that's why I am asking for a free utility..
dante77
my DVD drive is gone and I wanna install windows 7. Any suggestions how to format and install win 7 without disc? I never done it with HDD ( did a lot of time but only with disc), so can anyone tell me how to do it with HDD? I already set my first boot priority to HDD but its not talking boot. Also, is there any way to do it from pen drive? There is no option to set it to pen-drive Edited November 2, 2009 by dante77

theneurotoxin
a very basic question how to partition a HDD???what are the prerequisites??? no prerequisites you just need to get hold of a good partitioning software....or you could use the disk management service if you are on vista.i would personally recommend acronis disk director...never goofed up during all the time ive used it

ram87
Hi Everybody, I am having an issue with my PC here. It runs for a few minutes after boot-up and then just freezes.. If i press the reset button, the motherboard does not post immediately. The power goes off, then comes back. This happens for a few times before the system boots. After it boots, the thing hangs after a few minutes.I have tried 1)Reformatting the sys. 2)I even took the mobo to the dealer and there it was working fine. The processor does not go above 45 degrees and the motherboard 37. So i dont think its overheating. What may be the problem? Please help me out guys as i am stumped with this issue... raj_ch2002
usually the details u see in uninstall screen are not actual usage details, these details are picked from registry, may be in ur case registry may be corrupted....look at the services...and stop the modem service.... also change the ram and check..it should solve the problem...
