Hmmm i will call you we will discuss this.....or better yet when you are in bangalore i will come along with you and do the shopping together.

Dint you just pick 8800GT wats the point of going to ATI now if you so badly want two card SLI you will get amazing results with 8800 GT.

the upgrading thing just drives me mad ... im thinking of disposing off my old PC and buy everything new ... anyway .. im not buying it right now ... may be sometime next month end or so ...

There's supposed to be a price cut no the Intel processors end of this month so wait a little before upgrading.

Just my opinions,

Ditch the AMD processor.

Get a Core2Duo E8400 + ABIT IP35-E.

Get a Dell E228WFP or SP2208WFP over the Viewsonic.

The said power supply is an elegant choice.

And, if you just got an 8800GT and plan on getting a 22" widescreen, I wouldn't bother with the Dual HD 4850s.

Come to think of it, getting a 750i SLI instead and running 8800GT SLI would be a better choice for you than getting 2 new Radeon's for CrossFire.

My friend had SLI'ed two 8800 GTSs (640mb) and Crysis still stuttred while running in Dx10 and Anti aliasing 16x.

He shouldnt be running Crysis with AA in the first place, let alone 16x AA. The Cryengine 2 is a dog when it comes to smoothening the lines.

2 4850s in CF will destroy a 8800GT SLI setup.

That is a bold statement i mean beat maybe yes...DESTROY????

Except one game CF is a tinge less then 8800 GT SLI.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3341&p=20

8800 GT is retailing for 145$ now so SLI is 290 $ compared to 400$ so sorry Nvidia Wins and owns

PS: Just ordered another EVGA 8800 GT SC card from Newegg.... 125$(20$ mail in rebate) so technically 5k...WIN WIN WIN.

but beating costly by 110$ is ownage...i back my statements with facts....so please

And ya my main point of linking to the article was the fact that 4850 CF will destroy 8800 GT SLI is not correct they are very very close except one game where 4850 has scaled really well but then practically anything above 60 FPS is anyway not catchable by naked eye :)
