ram87
Core Voltage is directly propotional to Core Speed (Frequency) & heat emission. If you increase the core voltage by 100%, the frequency will also increase by 100% (ideally). But with 100% increase in core voltage, the amount of heat generated will increase by 800%. e.g. If your GPU originally emitted 10 W of heat at 5V, it will now emitt 80 W of heat @ 10 V. Cooling is most important if you want to hike the core voltage. if i use a voltage tweak should i need to tweak the core clock again manually? Is that correct?
W!z@rd
if i use a voltage tweak should i need to tweak the core clock again manually? Well generally you should first increase the frequency (core clock) and then test the stability of the card. Once you reach a point where you find system/game unstability, you should then increase the voltage to reach a stable point. Repeat the steps untill you reach the maximum permissible voltage of the card.

Is that correct? The cards these days usually support overclocking with the pre-installed heatsink & fan. Still I wouldn't recommend overclocking the card to its max untill you have a good cooling arrangement. In extreme cases, the amount of heat generated will either force your card to temporatily stop operation to avoid damage or might burn it completely. Also, assuming none of this happens, then the due to increased voltage and heat ,electromigration can increase and might decrease the life of your card. Memory OCed & then voltage OCed.. Worked like a charm for 2 years & then kaput !

That's ought to happe, even if you place your overclocked system in a freezer and run it. The life of the system decreases after overclocking no matter how much cooling you provide, the extent however depends upon a number of factors, temperature & voltage being the major ones. But now-a-days things have surely improved with native software overclocking & better heat sinks pre-installed.
Sufyan
Looking to buy a general purpose pc Budget upto 30k Dont need a graphic card right now Could anyone help me with a good configuration? ram87
What games do you plan on playing? IMHO go for the 6870 or wait on the GTX560 unless the GTX570 gets a price drop. Any game that comes out to the pc. planning on playing crysis 2 , dead space 2 and a lot of other games.
ram87
Hmm at that res, a 6870 or a 570 should serve you well. I'd go with the 570 simply because of the driver support. Thanks man. much appreciated.

Choron ka raja
I installed windows phone tools beta few months ago. After which I uninstalled it cuz I gave up the idea of developing apps for winpho7. Now, whenever I try to install XNA Studio 4.0, setup exits saying I need to uninstall the phone tools beta. It doesn't show up anywhere, I have even deleted the freaking registry entries. Still somehow XNA setup detects it. What to do? Or if possible, just help me find XNA 4.0 standalone setup, as the only one available on MS site includes phone tools retail version, which cause the setup issue. Solitaire
Someone help me out on this please. More like a networks query than an android one. Just using that app as an example. Suppose I use an app like IP webcam (an android app that streams video from the camera - back cam in my case) over a certain port you've assigned. Now my problem is this. My external connection to the internet comes to the DSL modem which has an internal IP of 192.168.1.1 as always. This is then connected to a wireless router that has an IP of 10.0.0.1. Suppose the phone get's assigned 10.0.0.2, then the app shows me that I can access the data by going to 10.0.0.2:8080 . I understand I can go to http://10.0.0.2:8080 on my home network. But how the hell do I access this from a program on another computer in some other part of the world across the internet? In a related issue, but OT, have the same problem with setting up a webcam stream using VLC (not on android, on PC) and letting someone else access it. When I start skype video it shows at the other end for just a minute before getting cut off. I am at a loss how to fix this issue with the network. Didn't change when I removed the static IP address I'd assigned the PC on the 10.0.0.1 network either Somebody help me solve this please.
