Just get anything you want, won't really matter. ASUS, Sony, LiteOn are all good (as in I've used them and found them reliable), don't know about Samsung, HP etc.

Only time I've had my drive fail is once when I lost power right in the midst of flashing an ASUS DVD-R/W drive with new firmware.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Got an LG drive as Liteon isn't available anymore.

@joy

Still we need a DVD drive for games, OS, etc. right? :P

Well, not really for games what with Steam helping me out even when that damned Orange Box disc had me tearing my hair out. But yeah, for the OS installs I kinda prefer using a DVD drive rather than a USB flash drive. I haven't used my own Sony DVD RW in quite a while either with most backups going on a 1TB drive I won a while ago instead of the 100-pack of DVD Rs I bought a long time back.

Btw, no rep for immediate reply eh beech ... Take this :chair:

ah CM extreme series, the worst series ever made by CM.

So CM extreme, Gskill, got any other surprises left :P

CM Extreme. :lol:

Oh dude....u have a CM Extreme...that PSU is nasty

Aight guys. Rig is mind-f**king me :wallbash:

BSODs on BSODs.

I've got only tomorrow to get a new PSU and a set of RAM.

Which one(s) should I go for ?

Rig specs: Core i5 (Stock Intel combo) + 1TB HDD + DVD-R + Wi-fi card + XFX 4850 (or 4870). Can't check as rig isn't getting powered on & I'm pissed enough not to open the cabby again :angry::furious:
