You could get the 9600 GSO if you're on a really low budget, the Palit 9600 GSO 384MB is 6.3k, about 5k less than the price of the HD 4850. C2Q 6600 4GB DDR2 800mhz Abit IP35-E 8600gt 256mb 160GBHDD DVD Writer FDD 1x80mm cooling fan 1x120mm cooling fan on a VIP 450W without any problems so I think he wont have a problem with 550W.
