Its the Rops that matter in graphic card. Greater the number of rops better the card.

 I don't think you want my help, I know what rop is, thank you but it is a small part of how a card actually performs.

Can anyone tell me when the HDD prices will reach the pre-Thailand floods price levels? I need a 500 GB external HDD quite urgently.

Its been five months since the floods happened and still the prices have not dropped much. Maybe they are giving the excuse of the falling rupee for the high prices.

I just thought that i'd spend some monies on the PC... Or else i'll do something stupid with it....

DA, you suggesting that i change the processor ?

First decide what you want to be faster (perform better) on your PC ? Gaming ? Video editing etc. Depending on your need, upgrade your hw.

Like Neo says, faster for what? You could always shove more RAM (if you are on a 64 bit OS) in as thats an all purpose performance booster.

Aside from that it depends on what you plan on doing with it. For games, going from an i3 to i5 or i7 wouldnt be a big performance boost but a new GPU would be MUCH better.

I didn't :|

It's just that for gaming it isn't the strongest of proccys.

If you're looking to enhance gaming experience, I'd suggest upgrade the proccy first (Now, I suggest it :P ). You'll surely benefit from having more cores. Having 4 Gigs of RAM, I'd assume you'd be running a 64bit os. Not many games need over 4GIGS at full throttle. But if you are hell bent on wringing the juice out of those titles, then march on :P

As far as GPU is concerned....I suggest you WAIT. There's some mouth-watery stuff coming up. Don't invest in a GPU just yet.

I don't really know what you mean there? You want to over clock? Or you want to keep your old heatsink?

And as for the GPU, wit for 7XXX series coming next month,it would be a better investment.

What? No. For gaming thats horrible advice. Every single bit.

Firstly, there are TONS of games that do better on more than 4 gigs of Ram. And no, if he has 4GB, it doesnt mean he has a 64 bit OS. And most importantly, RAM IS CHEAP. Its cheaper than buying a new CPU and it will give him the same boost in gaming.

Secondly, as far as proccy is concerned the difference in gaming between an i3 and i7 is almost negligible.

Even in a best case scenario you are looking at a gain of 10-15%. Would it really make a difference in your gaming experience if you go from 30 FPS to 35?? Seriously?

And no, overclocking or liquid cooling is pointless waste of money in your case. Your rig doesnt really need either. Get a good case with a fan if you dont have one. That should be more than enough.
