piper
I need to get my Seagate HDD replaced, it is still under warranty (although I don't have the bill). I'm based in Bangalore, so if someone can tell me the process for initiating replacement (RMA) that would be great. Issue with the HDD is that 3rd party Windows based diagnostics have shown bad sectors. And in general, the HDD seek times are slow as can be. Last I checked, Seatools (DOS) did not show any errors though.

outsider
Guys, so this is my set-up. I have a laptop connected to a television with an HDMI cable. It plays sound on youtube clips and for skype conversations through the sound system on the laptop. When I try to play a DVD or music stored on the computer, it will not play sound. I've tried connecting a separate sound cable, but that does nothing. Can anyone walk me through what I need to do to get the sound coming through the TV? Thanks! Big Boss
^Check in your Sound settings in Sound cards control panel, and see if HDMI is selected as Sound output.
i_rock098
Problem may be in your board, psu, pcie card or may be in your cabling it may be anything. its hard to say from here. you have to search the problem from the scratch. few months back i had somewhat same but strange kind of problem after spending hours of research found out that the culprit was my 9800gtx. Dnt worry...this happened with me previous year...There may be two problems: 1.There is a problem of the monitor connecting chord pin to the gpu port... Sol:try to reconnect it tight(may have loose connection... 2.If that does not work as in my case i took it to the repair guy who applied some kind of "isotope solution" to clean up the motherboard and some god knows what part..charged me 500bucks (told a 50ml or some bottle costs 3.5k)..nyway then it worked fine... See what happens.. Thanks for the input guys, tried all things possible by me but it did not start, so fillaly have decided to call the (s)expert. Let's see what happens, everything is under warrenty so that is not a problem, just getting paranoid that it stoped working in just 6 months of getting it. Rowlot
APC is a well known UPS brand. Try something with 1000VA or more which might cost you around 6000. Avoid local brands like Microtek if you have a high end gaming PC.
Big Boss
I am not sure, dose the V2 has CX500 V2 written on the psu? Nope, the PSU has CX 500, but the model details has CX500 V2. The V2 model is 80+ certified, and earlier CX500 was not.

I am actually quite dissapointed with corsair, i thaught it was a good brand, I chosec it over many other brands. but it gave on me in just 6 months. sure I gave it some heavy use like keeping the pc running all night, but it should have handeled that. Yeah the warrenty is still there but still it is a chore to go and get it replaced.
Big Boss
Mine is around 3 weeks old. The CX500 without version 2 is not good, the V2 one was 80+ certified and can handle loads with ease. Corsair is still a good brand, just buy the 80+ certified ones.
