( i never modified my bios since i got it nither did i do any kind of overclocking) Yes don't worry, it detects default settings by itself. 2) When should one apply a new coat of thermal paste?, i removed the cpu from its socket, now do i have to reapply the thermal paste again? You don't, though after a while it is recommended you replace your paste but it is not necessary, so don't bother yourself if your PC was working fine before. 3) plz suggest a cheep and good thermal paste to buy. Try tuniq tx-3 or Arctic silver 5 thanks a lot. Poppy give complete info

alphabeta
From my experience the most sturdy laptops are the business line of laptops from HP / Dell / Lenovo. That said, my recommendation is that you are better off waiting for a month because both Intel and AMD have released their next gen chips and they will soon start showing up (infact many laptops with the new intel ivy bridge chips have been announced). If you want to have decent gaming and decent cpu performance AMD Trinity chips seem most promising. Intel has better cpu performance and battery life. Just wait for a couple of weeks and then you will have a lot of choices.
