if i5 doesnt have hyperthreading then i think i'd go with i7. i7 2600k vs i7 3770? Both have hyperthreading? N price difference?

Also motherboard...what specs n features do they povide? Sli is one i know of. Other? Max ram capability etc? Does the basic motherboard itself directly affect performance? Like cores is for processors...what's in motherboard?

And, graphics card... Amd 7950 or 7970 will wrk wid intel processor...i heard both brands dont work wid each other?

^^ Okay, fine. The Intel Core i7 3770 ~17500/- OR Core i7 2600 ~15000/-; I say go for the latter again because of the better efficiency stats and the fact that Sandy-Bridge processors and Ivy-Bridge chipsets are not fully compatible and the RAM will be slower with a Core i7 2600 on a H77 / B75 based system.

No, the motherboard itself does not affect stuff like Core-count and such. But it does affect the number of hard-drives / optical-drives you can plug in, the amount of RAM installed, speed of said RAM.

CrossFire and SLi are more esoteric requirements and are not really chipset bound, there are third-party IC's that can be added to motherboard and provide these features. You will be surprised that the puny GIGABYTE board support CrossFire. SLi supportive boards are more expensive and cost close to ~15000/- and above.

Yeah, we are not like SONY and MICROSOFT here, things have to work together for maximum convergence and accessibility. AMD cards work with Intel processors and nVidia graphic cards can be run off an AMD setup, no issues.

Hope this answers your queries. Cheerio!

But wait, go for i7 2600k then? 3770 doesnt have hyper threading right?

All Core i7's have hyper-threading built in. The -k suffix is for unlocked multiplier to over-clock. Go for the Core i7 3770.

Aman, keep some money aside for a controller as well :P/>

^^ I think he can use the XBox controller he already has.

you can use ps3 controller too :doh:/>/>

I doubt it. At-least not like XBox controller which can be plugged in directly to the USB port and it is go.

i will but need a quick help

steam showing 108 error when i try to go to profile(community) section.....any possible fix?

^^ You need not have done that (tagging the entire post).

Restart STEAM. If that does not help, reset your internet connection and reboot STEAM.

Could you explain why 3770 instead of 2600 in layman terms? is the 3770 latest one?

alpha bro repped...max rep limit reached for today...will rep again :)

^^ One would have been more than enough, you need not exempt the limit on me. Thanks, though.

About the latter, yes the Core i7 3770 is the latest piece of Intel goodness, it is a better buy for that reason + the fact that it is more efficient compared to the Core i7 2600k head-to-head.

oh ok... When was it released? And it cant be overclocked eh? A 3770 is still better than an push button overclocked 2600k?

I guess we are pretty much set on processor when you answer those.

Now comes mobo. Which one will suffice my need? Also tell me the features of mobo's that u suggest so i'm no more a n00b, unn00b me n i shall bombard u with reps. ;)

sli is two graphic cards setup ya? Do both graphic cards have to be exact same in an sli setup or can they be different models of the same brand?

And crossfire is to do wid extra ram? :fear:

SLI means dual nVidia GPU setup, while CrossFire means dual AMD GPU setup. You can mix and match brands and models in Crossfire, while you can only mix and match brands(not models) in SLI. If mixing two different models in Crossfire, both will function at the lowest clock speed(i.e., if Card A > Card B, and you mix and match both in a system, then you'll get a performance like the crossfire of two Card Bs). See below thread:

Okay. I built my system 2 months ago, and the price was like it is now. :(/>/>

even asus gtx 560ti was 13200 which is now selling for more than 16k.and i5 2500k was 12000 but now over 13k.So clearly prices have gone higher
