ALPHA17
Lucknowite ! :cheers:/> Thanks for the suggestions. Intel mobo = avoid (for me). Will look at Gigabyte. About the RAM, just for 200 more I can get Vengeance with lesser latency. Why so specific on this one ? Regarding the GC, well, I think 4950 ought to be enough for Mark of Ninja and the likes for the time being, innit ? =] Okay, do try to find the GIGABYTE motherboard. Sure, that will be fine too. Definitely, in-fact I am completely against you switching the graphic card for anything, right now. Later once AMD releases Oland (HD 8***) and nVidia draws out its GTX7** series then take a pick. Cheers! G.Skill F3-1600C9D-8GAB ~$40 Radeon HD 7850 ~200 Seasonic is fine for OP's requirement. If the Corsair TX550M was available locally I would have preferred recommending that. G.Skill warranty has to be availed by sending the dud RAM modules to Taiwan facility whilst Corsair RMA setup in India is second to none. Radeon HD7850 2GB is not a great card to buy in my opinion since OP does not require an immediate replacement. Heaven Angel
But Indian main people charge in rupees. Why compare it with US prices ? In your case: core i5 3550 - 12826 ASRock H77 Pro4 - 6804 Corsair TX650 V2 - 7475 G.Skill F3-1600C9D-8GAB - I didn't find on Flipkart, so get F3-1600C11S-4GNT - 2452 ~ 29557 + Asus AMD HD 7850 2 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card - 19425 ~48982 you can save if you got friends in UK/US and ship items to you..Or go to black market/bulk seller..nice price. Heaven Angel
edit: not V2..Just Corsair TX650 or Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650 Watts PSU - 6555 http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-cmpsu-650tx-650-watts-psu/p/itmdeukqpjvkgqby?pid=PSUD5XZ4TDX66TJG Corsair TX650 - 7475 http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-enthusiast-series-modular-tx650m-80-plus-bronze-certified-650-watt-psu/p/itmdb6sex8kwuzfa?pid=PSUDB6FRQKAGMHVW Asus AMD HD 7850 2 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card - 19425 http://www.flipkart.com/asus-amd-hd-7850-2-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdamakcyhrxxxy?pid=GRCDAMAKFZNV6SYB GPU price is insanely high here. What about this motherboard ? Didn't see Corsair TX550 on FK. TX650 is available but nearly 6.5k in price. :| How does Seasonic handle warranties ? ALPHA17
GPU price is insanely high here. Corsair TX v2650W is fine and is priced appropriately. Yes, that is why I asked you why you are referring to that pricing (ASUS), the cheaper and higher clocked Sapphire version is available for ~15500/- and at that price I would pick up the GTX660 ~16000/-. AMD HD7850 2GB vs. nVidia GTX660 Sapphire HD7850 @flipkart.com. As I said, purchasing everything online due to EMI, so possiby Flipkart. What about this motherboard ? Didn't see Corsair TX550 on FK. About the SMPS, the Seasonic unit is enough for your needs but their after sales in India is sketchy, have heard good as well as not-so-good testimonials on TE. The Corsair TX550M replaced the VX550W but till now has not appeared on the open market (although people have got it in RMA). The next best option for you (with peace of mind) is the Corsair TX v2650W. Check out these chaps too --> hardwire.in Hope this helps, Cheerio! (ASUS user here, for 2-3+ years, no issue, no noise, pretty cool..I've tried XFX cards, not bad either) if you're short on budget you can get Sapphire. Very well, skip GPU for now (you can get Sapphire, 4K less than ASUS) So final build will be around 44K and everything is available on Flipkart. New cards will pop-out during Spring 2013, if you can wait.. (HD 7850 is very nice card)
ALPHA17
if you're short on budget you can get Sapphire. (never tried Sapphire) Sapphire is AMD's board partner, so it releases the first editions and gets to cherry pick its silicon for premium offerings like the Flex edition (with 6GB V-RAM and full EyeFinity support). Like eVGA is to nVidia. It is well received by us AMD lovers. I also like ASUS products (have their motherboard) but in the current scenario the card they offer has lower core-clocks and mirrors the Sapphire edition in every other aspect. Not worth the ~4000/- premium over the latter (in my opinion).

Well, you're right, I guess I didn't know much about Sapphire cards as I never used (never used AMD board or anything)..I was always driven by Intel + ASUS nVidia card. but, I've to say, HD cards are selling very well and seems to be nice in both performance and price. Might try next year when I plan to get new GPU. OT: WD Caviar Green 3 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD30EZRX) should be good for STORAGE? But prevention is better than cure, so take regular backups. For the Seagate 3TB drive, you are covered there as well because of the backlash they got for the frugal 1 year warranty they had imposed; Seagate reinstated a 2 year warranty policy on its Barracuda family of drives (effective since July 2012) --> Seagate reinstates warranty to 2 years / [H]ard Forum, Seagate regains senses. Elessar
Anyone have positive/negative feedback on the Creative A335 2.1 speakers ? I'm looking for a decent set within 2k budget.. For some reason the Altec Lansing models (VS2641 and BXR1221) seem to have disappeared from the online market. Creative has overwhelmingly good reviews on Flipkart, but a couple of other places not so much.
ALPHA17
What do you intend to do with these? Here are a few alternates, search TE for one of their reviews and opinions on them -- F&D A510 F&D A520 F&D A520 thread Techenclave I suggest that you go for a proper headphone than cheap speaker systems, it can mean a world of difference in performance. Mostly for gaming and movies, occasional music etc. Currently using iball 2.0 speakers, but they are terrible at times. If this is just for you, please consider entry-level headsets (with microphones). Entry-level speakers are generally not so great in performance. Elessar
But I sit for hours (and hours) in front of the computer Can't wear headset that long, gets uncomfortable. Keeping headsets aside, will the creative a335 speakers give me reasonably better performance than the iball ones or should I just stick with them ? I get your point about the entry level not being good enough, but I'm not much of an audiophile and budget is a limitation.
