^^ What version of Windows are you using, which version of Media Player?

Can you recreate the same problem when you use VLC or some other media player application?

Also, can you please tell us the configuration of your PC, I have forgotten it.

i am having a wierd problem

whenever i play any video in wmp the cpu usage goes to max 100 % and everything slows down and as soon as i close the window media player then pc works fine

any solution???

you must be using amd cpu and gpu..lol, just kidding..try with other media player like media player classic, vlc etc.How about streaming media - youtube ? It may be some codec problem

We are talking about a single-core processor based system are we not?

I think it is your system showing its age combined with heavier applications being used. I find VLC playback quality better than Windows Media Player (and more codecs supported).

How much RAM do you have on the RIG? Multi-TAB browsing is highly memory intensive.

ram is 3gb and processor is dual core

I don't think your hardware is the bottleneck here. Does the actual performance goes down while using WMP or you just realized while seeing the resource utilization ? When said video, is it normal SD video or HD video (mkv or mp4 container) ?If everything fails, try to remove windows media and re installing it.

im going to buy a laptop and it would be nice if it could do gaming .. my budget is around 35k any help?

Look at these options, Sire.

AMD APU laptops @flipkart. You can try to source the same models locally to get them cheaper.

Hope this helps, Cheers!

You can use vacuum cleaners but only in short bursts because of the heat generated and static electricity issues. Compressed air is a safer bet although extended use in cramped areas can cause condensation to form which is very dangerous.

I have no idea where you can get these cans locally, try the local car cleaners and garages.

I prefer a soft lint cloth, a dry brush and a little bit of acetone / surgical spirits for cleaning sticky residue on the internal components.

^^thanks for the info  i'll stick to whatever u mentioned for the cleaning :)

as for the 2nd part of the post ................i meant i wanted some link/website/guide to clean the CPU efficiently.....i was typing in a hurry ........so i wrote "post" instead of "clean" :P

i did find a few websites ,,,,,,,but everyone were suggesting those compressed air cans

im asking this cos the CPU in my place is placed at a position where it kinda attracts lotta dust and i cant place the CPU elsewhere in the room cos it's so freakin huge! (NZXT Gamma)

you can compressed canned air locally here ,will cost you around Rs.335,limited number of usage

I use lens blower, you can one here in ebay, will cost you around Rs.200-300,almost unlimited usage

As per most of system builder (us) compressed canned air is the best method to clean dust. Some people also use Blower or reverse airflow of vacuam cleaner

Thanks bro for the links  yea I was gonna ask about those small reverse airflow nozzles of the vacuum cleaners :)

Will probably get the blower and some sorta brush to clean the particles

But I also have also have a hp laptop that used to go iinto auromatic thermal shutdown mode frequently.....got that cleaned thoroughly ...now is it fine .....but in the future...if I used the can of compressed air into the vents that give out that heat......or should I use sort of a vacuum to suck the dust out? Is it advisable? Cos I'm a dummy when it comes to opening up a laptop and cleaning it :P
