Abey, I understand what you mean by RTM. But with windows the "RTM" version is free to download and use, and is not the actual retail version.

AFAIK, only the Preview is free to use. RTM is made available to MSDN subscribers and OEM manufacturers.

Dhakkan mod, download using your net and then switch off the router. :slap:

I know, hence the smiley in my post. I just meant that it did not give option of offline account (I doubt I overlooked it). Normally that option would be visible during Win8 installation regardless of internet availability. But not in Win 8.1.

RTM is never free to download unless you're a subscriber (TechNet/MSDN/DreamSpark etc.). Methinks you're confusing the Win 8.1 Preview.

Hmm, good? bad? any good alternate?

I got one for free, but not 100% sure to open and use it.

(might sell if it's not good).

Thanks!

^^ The OEM is Huawei, model is EchoLife HG533 (got to love the naming).

Either way, seems it is a good enough piece. More details here.

Why do you want to get something else, some specific requirement or some such?

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Thanks.

I installed it. It was pretty easy.

Well, I thought if it's going to be crap, I'll sell, but it turned out good.

No particular requirements (~60-100USD max). Just PC and phone..If possible connect TV.

hello fellow ivgians

as of now i have one of those horrible default wifi modem/router(utstarcom wa3002g4) that was provided by bsnl ......im using the same thing for the airtel connection

the wifi connectivity is fine within my room, but as soon as i get out of my room........zero wifi signal

actually i need a wifi signal from my room (located at the extreme right corner of the house) to the hall(extreme left corner of the house) ..........there are like a billion walls separating my room and the hall.........the distance between the room and hall is approx 13m....there is a also a room in between with a desktop.....this has been wired from my room

.......lets say i want around 20meters range

what can i do get the signal reach upto the hall??

should i get a wireless range extender?? or should i place a powerful router in the middle room that has the wired desktop connection

hall---------middle room(wired desktop)----------my room(modem cum router located here)

<-----------------------------13m---------------------------------->

Thanks

Cheers :)

cool ....thanks  but as i have mentioned in the previous posts.................the one i have now is a wifi modem/router( or modem router .....however u call it :P ) ............adding a router to this wont work right?

I had the same issue, bought a router + modem with greater range, has dual antennae as well.

Now I get signal even in the garden in our apartments (flat is on 2nd floor) :P

No you need not add a router to the mix.
