No specific budget on my mind actually. These Razers in themselves were going to cost me around 45$ and the keyboard was around 85$.

Somewhere within that range actually. I like the Razer mouse though:

Irrespective of budget - if you could propose please.

^ In that case, I suggest you look at the following keyboards,

  • Cooler Master STORM Quick Fire TK
  • Cooler Master STORM Quick Fire Ultimate
  • Cooler Master STORM Trigger
  • Corsair K60 / K75 Mechanical keyboard

For mice, you can look at the following,

  • LOGITECH G400s
  • LOGITECH G500
  • Corsair M60 / M65

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Ok, for the keyboard; I am unable to find Cooler Master and I'd have to search. I found the K75 but its mind numbingly expensive. INR 8500 - WTF?

How about this keyboard: http://uae.dtcae.com/product/logitech-gaming-keyboard-g110-3028/

Does the keyboard being mechanical matter?

For the mouse, I'm getting this one for a good discount: http://uae.dtcae.com/product/razer-death-adder-gaming-mouse-4565/. Its priced at 280 AED and I'm getting it for 160 AED (44$). The corsair one touches around 70.

Looks good but this is not mechanical.

Any reason to get a 'gaming' keyboard?

Does the keyboard being mechanical matter?

Yes, it does. A mechanical keyboard feels a lot better and does not suffer the penalty of key rollover and ghosting that membrane based keyboard.

Avoid the Death Adder, the mouse is not worth the price and the Corsair offers much better for a 10 bucks increment.

Ok *cough* - in case of more modest stuff. Something below these? Any recommendations? I thought the Razer ones were expensive but the cooler masters are even more.

What's one level below?

The LOGITECH one or MicroSoft Sidewinder X4. Assorted membrane 'gaming' keyboards.

A good mechanical keyboard will be expensive, the cheapest decent mechanical board that I have come across is the TVS Gold, although it is not a gaming keyboard and has its own fair share of pitfalls.

What do advantages do gaming mechanical keyboards have over the TVS? (apart from obvious ones like programmable keys and lcd displays), I mean is the TVS an acceptable entry level mechanical keyboard choice over higher priced membrane ones? Just curious.

I don't know any mechanical keyboard that comes with an integrated LCD display.

Anyway major advantages,

  • Proper MX-Cherry switches. Also, Cooler Master has a lot of options (Blue, Brown / Black, Red) so you can get whichever that suits your need.
  • Proper driver support and MACRO capability.
  • Better life expectancy.
  • Better build quality (relative).

That is it in a nut shell.

Depends on what you want out of it and how you divide your money between peripherals. Unless you are heavily into MACRO and competitive game scene the TVS Gold should be your go to device. Unless you play a lot of WoW / MoBA games without a decent mouse or really need the back-light.

If you just want a solid keyboard, the TVS is worth its price and actually longer lasting too.

Too high, maybe you should try to check what settings are up in the BIOS / UEFI for the CPU fan.

Overall, I don't think it is abnormal if it is keeping the temperatures low. Also, does the fan run at this speed all the time or only whilst operating under load.

Anyway, have a look in the UEFI as I said earlier and download AMD Overdrive to check settings via GUI in Windows itself.

the cpu fans run at that speed at all times (5000~6000 rpm) temp vary from 38 to 62 deg celcius

how do i control cpu fan speeds via AMD overdrive ? there is a manual and automatic option with manual having a slider to move from 27% to 100%!

In bios MSI's click BIOS have a mouse GUI- there is no option to control fan speeds only to overclock (voltage, clock speeds etc), my issue is to reduce fan speed!

Suggestions?

Hi,

My final setup here: http://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20018&page=1398#entry1829712

Had to settle in for some stuff as I added some others :P Don't beat me up for the Deathadder. Got it cheap and 6500 dpi they say, lets see!

Special thanks to Alpha for all the support and advice.

Cheers!~

@Alpha,

I have built the machine and kept it ready for the oncoming "very legitimate" software *cough*

Now, I need to know the best approach in terms of software, drivers etc. BIOS updates if any? How do I approach this?

Directions would be appreciated.

Plus, I think there's something I missed. When I got my RAM; they said G.Skill Ripjaws aren't available anymore and its only the Snipers that they have. This is the one with 2133 MHz. Just wanted to know if I need to do something to ensure things are right.

Umm, why not use direct connection? Dedicated connection with no interference from other devices and lowest possible lag.

What you mean? You want to update applications or something else?

Basically all applications notify you when there is new update.

Just check the product page(s), time to time for the latest drivers / firmware / UEFI updates. You won't need to put any effort in updating nVidia drivers, it will automatically scan for up-dates (you can manually do it through GeForce Experience) and will notify you.

For basic maintenance you can download following applications,

  • CCleaner
  • Defraggler
  • Malwarebytes
  • HijackThis
  • Real Temp / Core Temp
  • MSi Afterburner (monitor and set-up graphic card profiles through this)

That should be all you need to get going.

@ Alpha bro, pls suggest me a wireless router for Ps4 cross play feature. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Any basic N / N+ router should do the job for you. Check these @flipkart.

Are you talking of the PlayStation VITA remote-play function? If yes, ask around the circle which already have the device(s) they will be able to guide you better in-case there are certain intricacies to the process and any particular needs that need to be looked at.
