Heaven Angel
Check your RAM. Run Memtest86+.
ALPHA17
^^ What is your configuration? Apart from MemTest 86+, try removing individual components such as a graphic card (if you have one) and running without that. Also, just to isolate it at a Hardware level, try to run a Live session of Ubuntu. Hope this helps, Cheerio!
Big Boss
My PC is having some problem with the display.....while playing a game or browsing or when idle and nothing is happening....the screen display goes blank i.e becomes black cant see anything then it comes back on and this time there are tiny boxes (black grey o blue in color) all across the screen and sometimes vertical lines and then screen goes black......but the system continues to run..ie processor fans can be heard... but whatever program is running stops....and if the music, sound etc is heard there is loud noise and the speaker goes silent....and i have to restart..... this problem happened 4 times today So this keeps happening once in a while and i dont know what to do! this happens to my display if i game or watch a movie or simply just leave the system idle...system restarts ....happens atleast once a day....also display driver does not get uninstalled...remains on the system even if i uninstall using catalyst control manager...get an error saying unable to perform full uninstall...or something like that.. So aren't you the one who stuck to Cooler Master PSU after almost everyone of us warned you not to stick with it? It mostly looks like your GPU has gone fubar. ALPHA17
^ Let it do at-least two passes. Also, use Ubuntu Live Session for some time to clear out any hardware issues.
gursimar991
it says pass complete no errors...Also what is happening is windows apps are crashing randomly sometimes desktop window manager crashes, sometimes any random working app crashes and then after sometime BSOD appears and boom! It mostly looks like your GPU has gone fubar. how could it be an issue with the power supply ? @Alpha if cable was the problem i dont think the display would even switch ON right ? I have a feeling the new drivers may be the issue or my GPU may be having issues with Win 8.1 New Error i got today while playing BF4...game was running butter smooth for an hour and all of a sudden game started sttutering and then CTD and this.. Big Boss
how could it be an issue with the power supply ? It is not able to provide sufficient power to your setup when GPU is under stress. Whenever it fluctuates, the GPU driver stops responding. I have been through this. Chances are, your GPU is already damaged or something else along with it. My RAM died first and then the entire motherboard. Continue with this and say your PC goodbye. IIRC I or someone else had explained this to you earlier, then zodak jumped in suggesting CM cpus are fine etc. Am I right or confusing you with someone else? ALPHA17
how could it be an issue with the power supply ? Unreliable, power quality power supplies destroy PC components by frying the components. It can manifest in a lot of ways, from sudden hard-drive deaths to explosions inside the cabinet, @Alpha if cable was the problem i dont think the display would even switch ON right ? Again, I am just trying to isolate the problem, maybe it is the cable or the monitor itself, can be the OUTPUT / INPUT system giving up as well. Also, just check the power cable from the mains to the monitor, I have an ancient 17" CRT doing home duty and its fixed VGA cable has become loose over time and it either goes blank or shows rainbow coloured artefacts. I have a feeling the new drivers may be the issue or my GPU may be having issues with Win 8.1 New Error i got today while playing BF4...game was running butter smooth for an hour and all of a sudden game started sttutering and then CTD and this.. Revert to old drivers and check, that too will isolate the issue. Naah! If your hardware was misbehaving we would be seeing mass problems being reported. Finally, try to run a Live session of Ubuntu and see if the issue persists.
Debashish210
I am going to get a configuration within 35k EXCLUDING monitor, keyboard and mouse. 1. ALPHA17
7. PSU - LOCAL BRAND 600WATTS Change this first thing, swap it out for a Seasonic S12II 520W. Might raise your costs but considering you might / would like to upgrade your PC down the line a good SMPS is a must. 2.GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 3.RAM - CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1333 MHz (4GB) - PLEASE SUGGEST THE CLOCK SPEED WHICH THIS MOTHERBOARD CAN SUPPORT The motherboard chipset is too old to support anything over ~1333MHz, so you are pretty much locked with no other choice. Also, finding Vengeance 1333MHz modules will be hard. 8. GPU- SAPPHIRE AMD HD 7770 1 GB DDR 5 (OR) ASUS AMD HD 7770 2GB DDR5 (OR) SAPPHIRE AMD HD 7790 1 GB DDR5 (OR) SAPPHIRE AMD HD 7850 1GB DDR5 (OR) SAPPHIRE AMD HD 7859 2GB DDR5 Try to get an nVidia GTX750 / 750Ti if possible. Debashish210
:'( okay but at least tell me which GPU is better among these. I want the PC only for 2-3 years max so I wont upgrade it and just a casual sort of gaming.
