ALPHA17
Now waiting for a graphics card. Leaning towards gtx660. What about flipkart msi deals? I also want to know, msi after sales services in kolkata. Local vendors say, it is non existent I am on really tight budget, as you can understand. So waiting for your valued suggestions You have M.D. Computers in Calcutta, contact them and get the rates for the ASUS GTX660 / R9-270X. Those are your best bets. On their website they only have the ZOTAC! GTX660 which in my opinion has the worst cooler possible. Also look at Sapphire for AMD. Hope this helps, Cheerio! ox-
Finally bought some parts: i5 4440 Gigabyte b85-d3h Corsair 2x4GB vengence 1600 FSB Now waiting for a graphics card. Leaning towards gtx660. What about flipkart msi deals? I also want to know, msi after sales services in kolkata. Local vendors say, it is non existent I am on really tight budget, as you can understand. So waiting for your valued suggestions Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I'd say go for Sapphire R9-270X, it's overall at-par/better than 660 and it only costs 15,000₹ at flipkart: http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-amd-ati-radeon-r9-270x-boost-oc-2-gb-ddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdtp5j69ssu9gj?pid=GRCDTP5J69SSU9GJ&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=r9-270x&ref=bc116a0b-82a6-4668-916f-f03bbd1956b5 I have a reservation on how they deliver their hard-drives and cabinets. Apart from that, I am pretty satisfied with my transactions with them. On street the difference is ~500/- -->700/- bucks, worth the change to get a higher clocked processor. I got my CM HAF 912 (with side window) tightly and properly packed. But yes, I have heard many complaints of the poor packaging of hard drives by flipkart, but then I already had 320gb+120gb from my 7-8 year old PC and I am happy with it. What do you not like about windows 8 ? The metro screen is cringe worthy and some of the other stuff is not useful for someone without a touch screen - but Windows 8 is generally faster and smoother than Win 7. If you want start menu, you can get some add-in.
Ne0
Guys, two questions: 1. I plan to upgrade my RAM ( current is 4 GB). Let me know if I should go for 8 GB or 16 GB. Mainly for gaming. Also, which company or model to look for ? 2. I've a amd 5850 card currently, can I carry on with it for another year or so ? I've a i5 CPU. If I need to upgrade what's the best budget gfx card ? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Edited April 11, 2014 by Ne0

For some reason i feel win 8 is not booting fast enuff. If I need to upgrade what's the best budget gfx card ? 1) Details of current RAM you are using? Its frequency and which brand and what are the other important configuration details (like motherboard and processor)? 2) Again, more details required, which Core i5 are you using, coupled with which motherboard (chipset details)? I would suggest you get the details from an application like HWMonitor and DxDiag (Windows function) and post them here, I can help you better with that information, Cheerio! i hate that metro screen, if there is an option to remove metro screen all together am up for it. Also, yes, for now there are third party applications / workarounds which make a functional START menu in Windows8, also, it is being hinted by MicroSoft that a fully functional START button might come with a future patch. Although till now they have not implemented it. Oh! And you are not alone in the dislike for that banal METRO screen, most useless and unintuitive for non-touch based input methods. ALPHA17
^ Okay, any particular games causing you trouble or you want to just account for the next-generation titles? I would say stick with the current set-up you have and the graphic card and contemplate an upgrade only if something particular troubles you. Same with the RAM because current generation and upcoming Intel processors support high speed DDR3 modules / DDR4 modules (shall), it is best you wait and watch. For more detailed results on RAM (like frequency, brand et al) use CPU-Z application. Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Sumanth_Champion
Have you timed the boot up sequence? it takes almost 90 - 100 seconds for complete boot up. though the user login screen comes up quite fast, it is not so responsive as it still is loading other applications i guess. I think you will have to clear out a lot of the starter utilities and trial-ware provided by them. Because even my sister's AMD APU based laptop (SAMSUNG) boots up in under a minute.
