dullu
^ What are the drivers you are running on, did you do a clean install whilst updating them? What settings you playing the game on, try to tweak and change them because I have read that the nVidia drivers have had issues with Assassin's Creed III. Running the latest drivers (non-beta) from nVidia. Playing the games pretty much at the higher spectrum (1080p with most of the effects turned up) One thing that i have noticed is that most of the problem occurs when i pause/leave the game unattended and come back to it. It needs a restart of the game to fix it; but it kinda creeps back up I am more of a multi-activity person so i kinda game in byte sized mode
ALPHA17
^ Use an application like Driver Sweeper, completely sweep all traces of nVidia Forceware driver from your system. Download latest stable build from nVidia UK. See if it solves your problem, if it does not, can be that you are facing a hardware issue. KJD
After 5 years of gruesome and awesome service from my HP-DV6-1154tx ( ), it finally closed the curtains previous week. I kinda knew that this was coming. After some research, and verifying that some another issue was not responsible for this breakdown, I was able to confirm that issue was with processor. (caps-lock led beeps 1 time, a beep sound comes, and laptop restarts, no screen. Same repeats again) Received the quote from HP service center today that motherboard has conked off. And only replacement is possible for 23K. Now, I strongly think that investing 23K in 5 years old laptop is not viable option. So I have decided to make a new desktop PC by taking budget of 40K in mind. I already have following components 1) Dell ST2240L 2) Seagate 7200.?? 320GB HDD 3) Win 7 retail Box 4) Logitech KB320 wireless combo. And I have decided following components for new build. 1) Processor - Core i5 4440 http://www.snapdeal.com/product/intel-i54440-processor-31-ghz/115595088 2) Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H http://www.primeabgb.com/gigabyte-ga-h87-d3h-socket-1150-motherboard.html 3) RAM - RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL http://www.primeabgb.com/gskill-ripjawsx-f3-12800cl9d-4gbxl-ram.html 4) Power Supply - Seasonic M12II 520W http://www.primeabgb.com/seasonic-ss-520gm-520w-modular-power-supply.html 5) Graphics Card - MSI NVidia GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB - http://tinyurl.com/lqayzwm (will upgrade this in Q3-14) 6) Cabinet - Cooler Master N400 OR Corsair Carbide 500R (had 300R previously, so looking something more "estylis" this time) I hope this configuration is good. Usage will be desktop processing (First priority) and gaming (second priority). I had built a nice mid-range gaming PC earlier in dec-2012 (Thanks to ALPHA17 for his awesome suggestions at that time), but due to extensive work load and personal work, had to sell majority of the components. Only if that had not happened. But anyways past is past, and brighter side is I will get to build a new rig with latest components. And I will be able to come back to gaming . Just before 3-4 weeks, I was planning to get a second hand PS3 for gaming. But now I will need to build a new rig only, as wify also used laptop for her work. KJD
Sorry to hear about that Sir. =[requesting to not call me "Sir" Sire. Intel Core i5 4590 / 4690 (newer Haswell refresh chips, small frequency bump and should replace the older stock in market at price parity)The reason why I decided to go with 4440 is because, 4X90 are not yet available on street here. And I cannot find them online as well. And building a PC is high priority now. I have sent a query to primeabgb regarding release date. So if they say that it will be available within 1 week, I will wait, else I will need to go with 4440. GIGABYTE B85M-D3H (tiny board, but worth it in my eyes, unless there is an absolute need of a H87 chipset, this should be a better option) G.Skill RIPJAWS 1866MHz (get this over a 1600MHz variant as the Haswell IMC really scales well to higher speeds) Done and done. GTX650Ti Boost / AMD HD7850 2GB (better performance than the GTX750Ti and your selected SMPS should be able to run them fine with some power to spare)Will R9-270X be better option for 15K? If so I will upgrade GPU next year. And 520W PSU will handle it, right ? NZXT Source 530 / Corsair Carbide 400R (the 500R is not as well built)Carbide SPEC3 for 4.5K (www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6lzarZ7quI)? will be able to save the bucks here and add in GPU, and will get R9-270X Thanks again. In that case go with a Core i5 4470 / 4570 depending on the price difference. Considering that these cannot be over-clocked, getting the highest clocked option within your budget is the call of the hour. Will R9-270X be better option for 15K? If so I will upgrade GPU next year. And 520W PSU will handle it, right ? Absolutely, yes. If you can get a GTX660Ti / R9-270X you are fixed for a year-and-half. Till then the next family of cards should be out and dropped a little in pricing. Carbide SPEC3 for 4.5K (www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6lzarZ7quI)? will be able to save the bucks here and add in GPU, and will get R9-270X As long as it does not cause you a problem and more importantly you can add a few fans to the chassis whilst reining in the dust it can suck in, go for it.
_Krypton_
I'm sorry if this has been asked before and request the mods to move this to an appropriate thread if this is not the right thread. I currently have a laptop that i do my work on ( i am a candid wedding & music photographer ). Now i'll be buying the iMac 21.5" soon because i'm done with the laptop. My question to the techies here is that Is it a good enough system to run latest games on . Like the upcoming next gen games . Also , I have no clue about this steam thing but from what i've heard its smthing like PSN that gives discounted games and is a common platform for pc gamers to play online . Does steam work on the iMac ? Also what will i have to add to the iMac 21.5" in terms of hardware to make it usable for playing next gen games if it falls short on the requirements . What would be the cost for the same ? Again i'm sorry if u find these questions stupid and they have been answered before . But i'm a complete noob at PC gaming ! If you are reading this then thanks for your patience guys .

Heaven Angel
Steam has separate games catalog for MAC. You can find it here. New games take lot of time to appear for MAC and most of them don;t.
ALPHA17
My question to the techies here is that Is it a good enough system to run latest games on . Like the upcoming next gen games . No. Considering you will have to sink in close to ~₹1,40,000 to get a decent configuration that can play titles but even then not in full glory because it is a mobile GPU chipset. Also , I have no clue about this steam thing but from what i've heard its smthing like PSN that gives discounted games and is a common platform for pc gamers to play online . Does steam work on the iMac ? It is quite unlike PlayStation Plus, you don't pay any subscription fees on STEAM and neither do you have to pay anything for multi-player access. It is just a digital store that runs good sales from time to time. Yes, there is a STEAM Client installer for Mac's but I do not have any experience with them, also, majority of STEAM's titles do not run on Mac hence they are put into a different 'Mac' section of the STEAM Library. Also what will i have to add to the iMac 21.5" in terms of hardware to make it usable for playing next gen games if it falls short on the requirements . What would be the cost for the same ? A much better graphics card, for which you will have to contact Apple India and check for prices as I have no idea on this end.

ALPHA17
^ Where are you based Sir? Will you prefer purchasing online or locally at retail? Any special considerations, you will use the PC for dual purpose (apart from gaming any other heavy stuff)?
_Krypton_
^^ I'm based in Ludhiana (Punjab) , Sir. I would want to purchase locally if that's possible. As far the work requirements go , it'd be primarily used for Video editing and gaming
piper
The SPEC-03 case is really nice, reminds me of what I love about the Source 530.
ALPHA17
^ No worries. Where will you get the Corsair cabinet from in Hyderabad? Is Bhumika Peripherals still the local distributor?
piper
@KJD : I strongly suggest you look at some used graphics cards, they usually have substantial warranty remaining and you can save quite a bit.
KJD
The SPEC-03 case is really nice, reminds me of what I love about the Source 530. Just that the front looks like Bane's mask. ^ No worries. Where will you get the Corsair cabinet from in Hyderabad? Is Bhumika Peripherals still the local distributor? Corsair lists Arun Computers, Shweta Peripherals and PL comuputers as dealers on it's website. Will go to Arun mostly. Have had a bad experience at shweta in past. @KJD : I strongly suggest you look at some used graphics cards, they usually have substantial warranty remaining and you can save quite a bit. Will look out for options . But I am in favor of getting a new card. Edited May 21, 2014 by KJD
