Snake
SoundMAGIC ES-18 For what purpose do you need them? Already got the Soundmagic...anything else. The Seinheisers are for SP gaming on the pc, music on my phone...random stuff like that.
ALPHA17
Already got the Soundmagic...anything else. JVC Marshmallows. If you can increase your budget, you can also look at the V.SONIC and BRAINWAVZ line up. The Seinheisers are for SP gaming on the pc, music on my phone...random stuff like that. Better pick up these instead of the Sennheiser's.

Ethan Hunt
How reliable is Hitachi Travelstar ? I know they got acquired by WD - it seems they are the only one's giving a 3 year warranty on Laptop Internal HDD (both WD & Seagate have 2 yrs). Also they are the cheapest. ALPHA17
Hitachi before they got acquired by Western Digital made some of the most robust hard-drives, if WD has let them carry on ad-hoc after the acquisition I see no reason for them not being just as good as earlier. Aftrunner
Ok so I transferred my old PC to a new case but I think I f**ked up somewhere. I get no power. All the right wires are connected as far as I can tell. The PSU is plugged in properly. Yet, nothing. Aside from the new case's internal wiring being messed up what else could it be?? The PSU could be dead, would be a hell of a coincidence but its possible. Edited July 14, 2014 by Aftrunner
ALPHA17
Have you checked the SMPS power switch, is it in the one position. This happens to me a lot, especially after I clean my build and am pumped with adrenaline.
Aftrunner
Yeah, look at that too. Its on. It wouldnt surprise me if the PSU has fried, it is after all, like, 7 years old now. But if that is the case then its just really bizarre that it fried exactly when it did.
ALPHA17
Okay, just check the power connectors on the motherboard again, then the graphic card and finally the RAM modules. Remove and re-seat. This advice is generic as hell but please bear with me.
Aftrunner
Yeah. Already removed the GPU and tried booting without it. Still no power. I doubt faulty RAM would cause a no power issue. It would at least power on and then I might not get anything. Reseated the power connectors on the motherboard too. Is there any way I can directly turn on the PC without using the power switch on the cabinet, like I said, thats the most likely thing thats faulty (since its a new cabinet) aside from the PSU. goneforever
Hi guys, Need some help in buying stuff to setup a media streaming PC. This will be exclusively used to stream movies and music to other devices around my home. The last PC I assembled was way back in 2002 so I'm clueless on what I need and I'm out of touch with current tech . I've been using laptops all this time. My budget is around 25K. Much appreciated. Aftrunner
You dont really anything special for streaming. Instead of streaming to other devices why dont you just connect the PC to your primary display directly? Streaming music, isnt a problem. Streaming video though always has issues with quality even if all your devices have great network bandwidth. Especially if you are gonna be streaming good quality HD content. You are always better off directly playing from a source connected to your display.

goneforever
I initially was going to connect the PC to the main TV but due to space constraints I'll be keeping the PC in my daughters room and stream from there.
