kemosabe
I would suggest you check this guide on overclock.net. It has a very, very comprehensive list of keycaps, where to source them, differences et al and animated gif's for how each moves. Cherry RED's are loud, not BLACK level loud but loud enough to be noticed. You should take your wife to S.P. Rd. after bribing her and use a couple of options. =P yeah,,overclock.net guide is quite extensive; i also checked earlier in linustechtips and teksyndicate hence decided to go with Brown - quieter and tactile feedback will make perfect sense for me. Now the hunt begin
ALPHA17
Thanks for the help Alpha. You are welcome. Bought a PS/2-USB converter too. Don't know how people use anything other than a full-scale mechanical keyboard. B-B-B-But... What is the difference between a normal and a mechanical keyboard? Normal keyboards are based on membrane technology. Which are like electronic circuits that register your usage. Mechanical keyboards are based on mechanical key-switches. Every key has an individual mechanical circuit to register your strokes. This prevents problems like, keys failing to register key presses failing to register (if you press it and the circuit is undamaged it will work) no limit to key presses if you are using the P/S 2 standard interface. kemosabe
What is the difference between a normal and a mechanical keyboard? In mechanical keyboard, each key send individual signal to the OS, mostly interrupt based. It also has a tactile feedback and clicky sound which gives feedback to the user that key has been pressed or actuated. From a generic user point of view , the tactile feedback and clicky sound really makes the difference - you have to use it to feel it. People who type a lot, mechanical keyboard is a god send. For gamers, its an advance choice, mostly due to no ghosting. Mechanical keyboard lasts way longer, much longer than the whole PC setup also cost a lot. piper
Theoratical speeds aside - you will never even hit 7Mbps on a 3G connection in India leave alone 21 or 14.4. Memory Slot is something i didnt notice - yes that gives the D-Link one a added advantage. From what i have seen around - Huawei cards have been generally better than D-Link in terms of After Sales / Heating / Support etc - plus this one is cheaper as well. Can you explain how the device works. My assumption - plug into laptop and establish connection using some software. And for wifi, need power adapter? Can it be plugged into any usb charger and become 3G-wifi Hotspot?
goneforever
How can we unpair the controller from PS3? At the bottom of the DS3 there is a small hole to reset the controller.
Aftrunner
I am using Motionjoy only. Bluesoleil is to get my dongle detected by the computer. With that program, my computer is not detecting the dongle. How can we unpair the controller from PS3? Then it might be a problem. Do you not see the dongle listed in Motioninjoy either?? Sach4life
Then it might be a problem. Do you not see the dongle listed in Motioninjoy either?? The device is visible in the motionjoy and the controller also get connected with bluetooth. Pc shows it as xbox wireless controller as well but there is there is no detection of input from controller. I tried calibrating but even then, pc doesn't pick up any input from the controller. Aftrunner
Does the DS3 work with a wire? If the DS3 is listed in motionjoy and you can pair it with the BT dongle then try to go under custom profiles and hit save. See if that makes a difference? WR10
Am gonna upgrade my pc to an i5. I am confused between the 3450 & the 4440. By how much is the 4440 gonna trump the 3450 in games? If i should go ahead with the 4440 then suggest me a suitable mobo not more than 5k. Thanks
Heaven Angel
i5-4440 is cheaper and better than i5-3450. However, you won't see much difference while playing (~1-2fps boost) I would save $20 more and get i5-4670 instead. The i5-4670 is 15% faster in single-threaded programs. Multi-threaded performance of the i5-4670 is higher. The microprocessor performs 7% better in memory-intensive tasks. Graphics performance of the Core i5-4670 is higher. If you decide to go with 4440 - Gigabyte B85-D3H is a good option for around 5K. Can you explain how the device works. My assumption - plug into laptop and establish connection using some software. And for wifi, need power adapter? Can it be plugged into any usb charger and become 3G-wifi Hotspot? No need for software - just plug it to any USB power source & connect to its Wifi. Entire configuration can be done via a browser page.

MoonStruckHorrors
Which are the essential drivers for a laptop? I've installed audio, graphics, Bluetooth & cam so far. There are tons of drivers listed on the HP website.
ALPHA17
Do not install anything else. I am assuming that you are on a Windows 8.1 piece, if not, upgrade to it ASAP. Get rid of all the junk / bloat applications like Norton Security trial and et al that HP must have provided with the laptop. Switch to Windows Defender. That plus common sense should provide adequate defence against most malicious warez. Install Malwarebytes anti-malware. Get Classic Shell if you want to get the pre-Windows8 era start menu. Hope this helps, Cheerio! P.S. -- Keep drivers updated via Windows Update service. Just watch out for firmware / BIOS updates from HP.
MoonStruckHorrors
This laptop came with FreeDOS & I installed Windows 8.1 myself so there's no bloatware. It's just the minor things like the brightness control requiring drivers. I don't know how laptops work so I don't know what features need drivers. ALPHA17
First off, you will need to replace that VIP SMPS, not sure how it has lasted so long but now that you are in the market for a change, upgrade to a decent 500W from a reputed company. In my opinion the Seasonic S12 520W should be your aim. For graphic card, either the AMD R9-270X or nVidia GTX 760 is what you should get. The GTX 660 just is not upto scratch against these cards.
