ALPHA17
^ Did you update anything recently? The error code itself points to a driver failure. So you might need to use an application like Driver Sweeper to clean up your drivers and reinstall the latest stable version (from DELL). Also, after this you might need to see what is the firmware and BIOS version that the laptop is running and if that needs to be updated. Sanj
guys can anybody tell me from where i can get a xbox controller for pc at nehru place and approximate price also? its costly online on flipkart etc.
ALPHA17
No one can tell you exactly where to go, most retailers should stock it. Should cost you between ~1400/- -->1800/- bucks depending on retailer, stock levels, condition of the box, et al.
Aftrunner
Hmm picked up the Cooler Master Hyper TX3. Temps are the same as the stock cooler (40 idle and 60ish under load when playing BF4) so not sure if I applied the paste properly or not. But what the hell, its worth it just for the noise reduction alone. I cant even hear my PC anymore, its that quiet.
Big Boss
What are your PC Specs Afty?
Aftrunner
AMD 8320 proccy on an Asus mobo. For reference the stock AMD cooler was running at 6500rpm and louder than a vaccum cleaner. This, even under load at 2700 rpm is really quiet.I was expecting a 10% drop in temp though. Edit Also FWIW, installation was super easy. Even a total hardware scrub like me did it in 5 minutes. Aside from the aforementioned quantity of thermal paste. Edit 2 Also also, the cooler is pretty compact. Its the only one I was sure would fit in my case. And it fits nice and easy with room to spare. Doesnt even cover the RAM slot. Edited September 8, 2014 by Aftrunner
Big Boss
Actually stock fan was pretty loud for me too, when gaming it went upto 6500+ RPM. I installed two intake case fan on the side and 2 exhaust at the top, and then it never crosses 4k RPM when on load, noise is very bearable, at least less than case fans lol. The stock AMD fans are ambient heat sensors really, so if the air around CPU is hot, they will whirl like anything even if CPU socket temperature is less. I suggest install a few case fans if you don't have them. I have actually OCed my CPU from 2.8 to 3.4 GHZ and CPU never crosses 54 C while gaming and fan RPM never crosse 4.5k. Aftrunner
Nah its not the air flow in the case. I already have 3 120mm fans in there. Good quality ones too. One in the rear, one on the side and one in front. And my room is usually cool with the AC on most of the times anyway. The stock cooler was just a piece of sh*t. Even at 4k RPM (which it was rarely on even at idle) it was still too loud. At 6.5k it was just insane. Good riddance honestly.
Big Boss
Wow with AC you had it running at 6.5k I am also planning to get aftermarket cooler anyway, want to OC upto 4 Ghz. Lets see.
RD274
The stock on my X6 only went to 5k but god even that was annoying as f**k. When I upgraded out of it, it was like a revelation. From the annoying whiny whirring that was always around to a deep and pleasant hum. Wow with AC you had it running at 6.5k I am also planning to get aftermarket cooler anyway, want to OC upto 4 Ghz. Lets see. Btw, for temporarily good temps- go inside your BIOS and go in voltages. Drop the CPU voltage by 0.50. With this voltage your cpu will idle at much more cooler 45c and even on heavy usage barely climb till 65-66c on stock cooling. As a result the fan will be less noisier, although do remember to remove the voltage drop if you want to try for more than 3.4Ghz (that voltage can only hold till this much).
ox-
My Logitech G400 has started spazzing out. Double-clicks instead of single. Dragging stuff has become a nightmare. Basically the buttons are acting up. So my question to experts is 1. Is there a way to fix this without taking a screwdriver to the mouse 2. Is there a reasonably prices (sub-4k) mouse that won't start acting up 6-9 months after purchase? Try this: Remove the USB port and repeatedly press Left click <-> Right click for 10 seconds. Put in the USB port again. I read this somewhere not sure.

Is there a reasonably prices (sub-4k) mouse that won't start acting up 6-9 months after purchase? No guarantee. You can try to get this replaced though. If under warranty. nads
^I ordered one Lucky u...... If u wanna sell it cheap lemme know.... OK now the problem..... 2 days back my pc refused to start dunno y? The mobo won't start the POST and there was no display.... Changed the bios battery (5 yrs old mobo) removed the ram sticks disconnect all attached peripherals to the mobo but then also no post or error beeps.... My old cabbie was not in a gud shape (rusting here and there and the power switch wasn't working properly) and I was using a vip 600w psu.... I thought mebbe the psu is not giving enough juice to the setup and hence ordered an NXT phantom 410 cabbie and Antec TP750 watt gold certified psu.... After cleaning and reassembling the pc it wouldn't boot... No POST no error beeps but all the fans and gpu fans are running on their max... So most probably I think mobo has gone kaput.... If anyone can help me troubleshoot this would be thankful.... Second option I wanted to upgrade my gpu but m waiting for the news from Nvidia side... But since my mobo is gone I have the following 2 options Low cost-- change the mobo for 4 - 5k and hang around for another couple of years and upgrade to Broadwell or High cost-- change the mobo and cpu and go for i5 4970k this would cost me 20 to 22k and the gpu upgrade has to be delayed to next year end Some honest feedback would be appreciated since my phenom IIx4 955 handles everything as of now not very much interested in piledrive architecture of amd due to high tdp of their cpu that's the only thing which is making me switch to the Intel camp this year... And yes one more important thing the new rig should last me for the next 5 yrs that's a must... My specs as of today AMD phenom IIx4 955 Gigabyte MA785LMTUD2H 12gb ddr3 ram 500gb x2 in RAID 0 benq 24 inch led Antec TP750watts psu Galaxy geforce 260 216core gpu [emoji16]

What are the fans connected to, the motherboard or directly to the SMPS (via Molex)? Do you have an iGP to test the graphic card not being a victim? Finally, try to boot with a Live OS, like Ubuntu. Download from here, and burn it on a disc / put it on a thumb drive. Some honest feedback would be appreciated since my phenom IIx4 955 handles everything as of now not very much interested in piledrive architecture of amd due to high tdp of their cpu that's the only thing which is making me switch to the Intel camp this year... I would suggest you go with the low cost approach, this shall give you a decent budget to purchase a graphic card. You can upgrade the CPU and motherboard a little later depending on how Broadwell / Skylake fare. Hope this helps, Cheerio!

The cpu fan is connected to the mobo fan header the gpu is connected by pcie input from psu... The case fans are connected via molex from psu.... On a normal boot up sequence the gpu fan starts at highest speed and settles down after 4-5 secs to normal idle speed.... Now it just rotates at high speed instead of slowing down I have an integrated gpu tried that too still no display... Display say no signal detected... Instead of no input (ie if i don't connect the Display panel to anything) Will try booting Ubuntu from usb but I don't have high hopes since the mobo is not displaying any POST info..... Thinking the same... any mobo u would recommend my requirements would be USB 3.0 and an integrated gpu.... Sata 3gbps is fine for me don't plan any ssd upgrades on this machine atleast.... Should also have atleast amd 880 chipset nothing lower... Thx for helping out
