nads
What are the fans connected to, the motherboard or directly to the SMPS (via Molex)? Do you have an iGP to test the graphic card not being a victim? Finally, try to boot with a Live OS, like Ubuntu. Download from here, and burn it on a disc / put it on a thumb drive. The cpu fan is connected to the mobo fan header the gpu is connected by pcie input from psu... The case fans are connected via molex from psu.... On a normal boot up sequence the gpu fan starts at highest speed and settles down after 4-5 secs to normal idle speed.... Now it just rotates at high speed instead of slowing down I have an integrated gpu tried that too still no display... Display say no signal detected... Instead of no input (ie if i don't connect the Display panel to anything) Will try booting Ubuntu from usb but I don't have high hopes since the mobo is not displaying any POST info..... I would suggest you go with the low cost approach, this shall give you a decent budget to purchase a graphic card. You can upgrade the CPU and motherboard a little later depending on how Broadwell / Skylake fare. Hope this helps, Cheerio! Thinking the same... any mobo u would recommend my requirements would be USB 3.0 and an integrated gpu.... Sata 3gbps is fine for me don't plan any ssd upgrades on this machine atleast.... Should also have atleast amd 880 chipset nothing lower... Thx for helping out

Get any 880G / 890G series motherboards you can get a handle on. Preferably from a renowned brand instead of local or shifty stuff.

Anyways went ahead and got a gigabyte GA78LMTUSB3 (igp was a priority for me in dire times) for the time being it will serve my needs for another couple of years before i move over to Broadwell..... Mizanurification
I dont wanna keep my PC running whole night for downloads. Installed Steam on laptop, downloading games and making backup. So if i transfer the backup using flash drive to PC, it will work right? Any easier method to transfer? ALPHA17
^^ Nope, the method you detailed is probably the safest and most straight forward one. Edited September 11, 2014 by ALPHA17
Big Boss
No need to make steam back up. Just transfer the game folder as it is. Start the download for that game from PC while selecting that steam drive where you copied the game folder. It should say discovering existing files and you will be done in few mins. I always do that. Steam backup is longer time consuming process comparatively.
ALPHA17
^ I tried that, does not work so seamlessly now. Sometimes due to a fresh format, it starts a fresh download.
piper
I tried to have Steam detect the Batman Arkham Origins folder. It detected it, verified the files and then decided to download the entire thing from scratch anyway :|
Big Boss
You guys must be doing something different? I installed DR3 like that only. Also, game must be downloaded via Steam only, torrent etc copies don't always work. One more thing, if some patches were released AFTER you backed up data, then it may download huge data again, even if the patches were very small. KnackChap
so i hope you guys can help. i have a wifi connection at home and sometimes while browsing or even using devices like iphone or other mobiles, the connection seems to drop suddenly and i cant open webpages or download apps etc. the thing is if i open another tab in the same browser or go to a different website it works fine and after 30 sec -1 min seconds even the old pages that didnt use to open work fine. same stuff happens while downloading apps, sometimes it doesnt download anything but after waiting for a few seconds it works fine. i recently changed my router but the problem is still persistent, so guys is there something wrong with my net connection or is there a setting that i have messed up? Told you, that old method has become unreliable after they updated their system with this new back-up feature. i recently changed my router but the problem is still persistent, so guys is there something wrong with my net connection or is there a setting that i have messed up? KnackChap
worldnet. yup, have access to the router settings.
ALPHA17
Enter the router and check what is your DNS. Switch to Google / Open DNS. If that does not solve your problem, you might have to contact your ISP for follow up. Also, is the connection wired or wireless. It can be that due to environmental factors and weather you might be facing issues. Happens a lot to me when the copper cable at my end snaps. I ran registry cleanup via Ccleaner and it did remove the registry errors. Just upgraded my pc and installed win 64 bit home premium.. What should i be doing to fix this?
ALPHA17
^ Try to remove and reseat the memory modules and graphic card. Do the same for the hard-drives as well. What configuration are you sporting?
WR10
Its in my signature. Do i have to run memtests and do a chkdisk?
ALPHA17
^ Not really, just try the manual steps first. Also, change the DIMM you are using for the RAM if it is a single stick.
