ALPHA17
Will a range extender work for you?
Aftrunner
Yeah a range extender is the smarter option. Buy one and put it somewhere where you get decent signals but still far enough away from the router. Should ideally cover the whole house. Better than coughing up 5k for a router to find that it still doesnt have the range you want.
VelivolusDas
Will a range extender work for you? I wanted to get one of these for quite some time. Any specific one that you would recommend if I have a budget of INR 1.5k-2k? Also, how does this work? Like I set-it up at a spot as described by Aftrunner. After that, will my device (mobile phone/PS Vita) look for this device? Or will I still connect to my original router?

TP-Link, Cisco and Belkin are brands that I would recommend. I think you will connect to the network directly not the adapter.

pbpoovannagamer
so one of my clients (DRDO) needs to see some software program/images on a 4K professional monitor (as the program generates such high resolution content) and that only way to do this is use a PC that has 4K native resolution and connect it to a 4K Professional monitor! is there a brand like Alienware that will have ready to buy computer with specs that support 4K ? So i request the pundits here to suggest a quality build for a 4K setup !! Money is a non issue! ...this is NOT for gaming!!! 4K display-- i have taken care of that CPU - best Core i7 processor...with good cooling tech Mobo - should support 4K resolution capable GPU GPU - 4K capable - Nvida or AMD ??? suggest both...will ask client to take a decison Ram - 16 Gb sufficient ? Cabinet/Tower---big enough to easily support and have very good airflow/additional fans to prevent overheating! edit: alomst forgot - need SMPS also to support a 4K monitor and all of the above Edited October 20, 2014 by pbpoovannagamer
ALPHA17
I am not aware of any pre-built system that will support 4K recording plus, you know the same case of over-pricing everything is rampant so might as well look at a custom build, since budget is not an issue I am going all out on the performance front. Intel Core i7-5960X ASUS X99 DELUXE (I would suggest you try to contact Intel India and find out if they have any motherboard chipset based on the X99 chipset that can be used for business environments) 32GB / 64GB DDR4 (Corsair / G.Skill) nVidia GTX TITAN Z / AMD R9 295 Corsair Obsidian 800D / Xigmatek Elysium Alternately, you can invest in a proper Intel Xeon or equivalent AMD server grade system. Hope this helps, Cheerio!

ALPHA17
Okay my question is what is the difference btw ssd and hdd?and what are the advantages/disadvantages of ssd and hdd?Which is better? SSD -- Solid State Drive A SSD is like a thumb drive when it comes to its storage mechanism, there are no moving parts, all data is stored in memory cells. Due to this the power consumption of a SSD is a fraction of a traditional hard-drive and the read-write operations are much more consistent, the random access times are also far faster because no moving parts. Heat generation is also lower. All this comes at the cost of high cost of purchase, since the technology has yet to mature and the cost of good quality storage memory is also high, which gets passed onto the user. Also, in the long term the performance can degrade and data storage be unreliable because of limitations of the memory cells when it comes to permanent write-re-write operations. HDD -- Hard disk Drive Traditional hard-drives, perfected for the past 25 years. Maturing technology has made the cost of purchase and operations the minimum possible with given technology. Also, data density has exponentially risen. Shortcomings are inconsistent operation speeds. High power-up demands and generation of heat when used for extended periods of time. There is no clear cut, better, as such. Everything is dependent on your budget and what you need.

ALPHA17
^ No point purchasing then. Core i3's of the current generation are a dead-end.

ALPHA17
^ Yes. But you will need to install all applications that you want to speed up on the SSD, else they do not get the benefits.
