Hi. I have an i3 desktop probably the 1st or 2nd gen.. Everything is fine.. But from the day i built it, when i try to boot the pc, the fans run, mobo lights up and sounds as if the processor is running but nothing on the screen.. Then the sound n light in mobo will stop and then again light up and fans will run and the system will boot without problem..

This was happening for around 2yrs.. Never cared coz want an issue for me.. But past 2 days, the time taken to boot has increased i.e around 2 minutes until i see w7 logo.. What should i do/check?

^ Are you using any anti-virus and anti-malware suite?

Use CCleaner to clean up temporary files that might be dragging your performance down.

Defraggler to defragment your drives, the long method not the quick defrag.

Apart from that check on your hard-drives health by using this application.

If this does not fix your system, it might be some other component damaged or it is just showing its age now.

So, I checked with the help of a HDMI cable, and it seems like it's the monitor that's dying with the blue line.

It's not anything special. A Samsung 20 incher that's 5 years old. Is it worth looking into (to fix it)?

My guess is it's to do with the terminal points or one of the contact points.

It's just one vertical line though.

Hey Alpha is Dell U2412M Good for multiplayer gaming? (Dota2,Starcraft 2 and BF4 mainly)

It has a response time of 8ms

Will it cause screen tearing or anything of that sort?

^ Look for something better than that, at-least 5ms and a TN panel is good for gaming.

Screen tearing comes up with low refresh rates or when your frame-rate fails to sync up with the monitors refresh rate, this is not dictated by the same.

But i can use V-sync right?

I need this monitor for color correction for my 3D model renders as you may know colors on TN panel monitors are not up to the mark

Hi alpha,

My Pc again refused to boot up yesterday, so i opened the case and checked motherboard connection. i pressed 4-pin main connector hard and pc started . now when i switched on pc today but today also pc did not start. so i again tried to press motherboard connection harder but today it did not started. now i accidently removed 4-pin connector to main board and pc started . so is 4-pin connector (20pin + 4pin) to motherboard is required or i dont need to connect that 4 pin connector please guide.

^ That sounds like a case of poor connections, a 20+4 pin motherboard connector is required to run the PC. I do not see any reason why removing it is helping you power on your system.
