PhantomShade
My house need renovation, so i will be moving to a rented apartment for the time being How should i take my PC once assembled? I plan to take PSU,HDD and GPU seperately in hand And put the MB in its anti static bag with cpu still installed, put it in its box and carry by hand Cabinet will be taken by packers and movers Is this ok? Or will something go wrong? Should i directly assemble the parts once i move in to new flat, instead of assembing at home, dismantling and again assembling at new flat? ALPHA17
^ Prefer that you assemble once to check if all components are running. Then break it down completely and reassemble only in your new residence.

ALPHA17
^ I have faced random slow downs on FireFox while browsing with my laptop. Thanks for flagging. Might be something to do with FireFox's CPU utilisation pattern and Adobe Flash Player.
PhantomShade
Is there any way to stop games from utilizing more than 3.5GB Of Gtx 970's VRAM? I dont want gems consuming all 3.5 gigs and spilling into the super slow 500mb segment
ALPHA17
^ Nope. No piece of software can do that.
Skull Crusher
i5 4440 + gigabyte G81 15250 Kingston 4gb ram 2000 each Seasonic 520w 4750 I was recommended G81 motherboard over G85 as it is not going to be used for gaming Please comment on the quotation is it over priced? ALPHA17
^ I do not know any G81 motherboard from GIGABYTE, must be H81. Not recommended you step down from the B85M-D3H though, this board is superior overall and will perform more stably for a longer time. The H81, not so much. Skull Crusher
i 5 4440 + B85M is quoted @ 18500 and is the rest of the pricing ok?
ALPHA17
^ Yeah! The pricing is okay, how much for the processor and the board individually?
mafia97
Most games don't see the extra 512mb ram on gtx970. They detect only 3.5gb,example is shadow of mordor. Which do utilise more than 3.5gb suffer no stuttering, example bf4. Benchmarks are on youtube. Shadow of mordor uses 3.5gb And bf4 uses 3.6gb at 2k
Skull Crusher
He gave a combined pricing for processor & motherboard
ALPHA17
Okay, so no individual prices.

ALPHA17
Vibration in your PC. Did you detect any smoke or smell along with that? Please open your chassis and try to power it on with the side-panel off. See what all does work and what does not. Plus, if you have already done that, I would break down the PC to see if any physical damage has occurred or no. What power supply you using? kanbad
Cooler master 600 w. I kept the side panel open . only moving part is the cpu fan. But that is working fine. Pc powers on. The CPU heatsink also gets hot , normal temp. No power in usb ports. And no display. And yes there was vibration for a good 5sec.

ALPHA17
Salvage the hard-drive, the LG DVD drive and speakers rest of the stuff can go for ~5000/- -->8000/- bucks (all inclusive). Cooler master 600 w. What type / model and how old? Also, the non working USB ports and display might be because the fuse got blown. Time to field strip the PC and see for burn marks / physical damage. Edited April 24, 2015 by ALPHA17
