MarketTantrik
The AMDs have an edge at memory intensive taska on account of their integrated memory controller. But the current crop of C2D's have counteres that advantage, even at rendering and modelling. Check any of the comparative reviews on the net and you will see that. I used to be a massive AMD fanboy earlier, till the C2Ds came around and AMD failed to respond with any worthwhile offering. Since then, I have come to realise that the C2Ds are actually pretty fantastic processors.
Don Karnage
^ Yeah, I was only looking at AMD for the past few years but this year when I upgraded there really was no choice with AMD. Here are some 3D modeling benchmarks - http://www.behardware.com/articles/623-12/...2-duo-test.html http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1988801,00.asp

MightySkate
^^first try with a 2GB ram sticks on the A&B slots and see if that works. You can only nail this with a trial and error and try narrowing it down.
arjun
hmmmm 2gb ram sticks cost more dont have budget
MarketTantrik
It seems to be a timing issue with between the memory controller in the Northbridge and the RAM. Are you sure you bought properly matched RAM modules?
MightySkate
what i meant was, since you have 1GB sticks try it with only 2 gb by inserting it in the proper slots. And plus like MT said, do the 4 sticks operate at the same speed? meaning are they 400, 533, 667 Mhz sticks? MarketTantrik
Check the RAS-CAS and CAS timings on the modules. they should be in the format 5-5-12 or something like that.

MarketTantrik
They are the values that indicate in how many cycles, what timings and at what latency the RAM is communicating with the controller.

V my actual budget was 30000 but i knew 30000 is not possible for a good gaming pc so i increased it to 35000 and it seems even that amount is not possible. i cannot increase my budget anymore but like to hear your suggestion and also i am planning to assemble it myself so i would require your help too and about windows vista with that aero features how do i install that. With that kind of budget, you should avoid Vista. Your budget constrained choice of gfx card will not be adequate for DX10 under Vista and Vista chokes the framerate for DX 9 games too.
