Method 1 If you are directly upgrading(offer) no need for key.Just grab the update from Windows update After upgrade if your pc is still not showing activated you can try forcing it via CP. Run cmd.exe as an administrator, then type slmgr.vbs /ato . Method 2 Go to this link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench and download the required windows 10 in iso format. Ignore Windows 10N Windows 10KN Next for clean install talk to MS india and provide your Windows 7/8 key plus other security details .Cook up some story that your pc is damaged after upgrade bla bla bla They will convert the key for you to use it with Windows

Not the same as a formally purchased one.

Also, get 2 x 4 Gb, that way you can do DUAL CHANNEL, which performs better than a single 8 Gb ram chip

I'd say go for 2 x4GB because if one stick fails, there is the other one atleast,so you won't be PC-less Yea stock cooler will be suffiicient

Gpu : Asus 960 strix 2gb I would suggest you stay away from Gigabyte motherboards. Gigabyte pushing it a motherboard revision too far ? http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/gigabyte-pushing-it-a-motherboard-revision-too-far.html Their rev 1.0 boards are really good and those are the ones that are being benchmarked by the reviewers, but then Gigabyte releases other revisions with downgraded specs and inferior quality chips. Check the above link and you can see for yourself. It shows a very good visual comparison of rev 1.0, rev 2.0 and rev 3.0 of the SAME MODEL OF GIGABYTE motherboard. You can even clearly see the missing chips and missing mosfets. Just get an equivalent Asus or an MSI motherboard. That's what I did Edit: Also stay away from any PC Mate version of MSI motherboards. Rest all MSI mobos are fine Edit II: By the way, which processor you getting? Edited September 19, 2015 by Kazekage Gaara

Kazekage Gaara
^^i5 i5 4460 Do you intend to overclock? Coz if you do, you'll need to get the "K" version of that processor, i.e., 4460k. And for overclocking it, you will need to get a mobo that is capable of doing that. Edit: Sorry, I guess you already mentioned that you don't wanna OC. Well, then in that case, see if you grab a B85 or H97 chipset motherboard from Asus or MSI. That should be more than enough for you Edited September 19, 2015 by Kazekage Gaara

Kazekage Gaara
Even I am pretty new to the motherboard scene. Originally, Alpha had recommended me these... GIGABYTE GA-H97M-D3H OR MSI H97M-G43. Given the Gigabyte scenario, I wanted to get the MSI one but it was out of stock EVERYWHERE, even on Lamington Road. I also spoke with the head of official importer of MSI products in India (Acro Engineering), and he said they have no intention of importing that motherboard (MSI H97M-G43). Hence, the dilemma. Now, for me the only option left was Asus, but Asus mobos are expensive and on top of that, it's competitors provide much more features on their motherboards compared to Asus. Like, my motherboard, even though it retails for 16k, does not have a Sata Express or a M.2 port (for advanced SSDs). But luckily, with my new mobo, has a spare PCIe 4x port, and I can install a Sata Express or a M.2 adapter card and install those advanced SSDs. With my current motherboard, I also have the option of doing SLI. I was lucky enough to find a good lightening deal on Amazon and hence my current motherboard. May be you can speak with Alpha and find another alternative in an MSI motherboard or try to find a good deal on Amazon or online for an Asus mobo Best of luck Edited September 19, 2015 by Kazekage Gaara

No idea but I would still suggest you to go with an i5. It's that much more powerful. I have worked on i3 systems and i5 systems, and I would prefer the i5 systems ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Besides, how much of a price difference does it have?
