Kazekage Gaara
7k Sorry, am no expert. Most members on forums found on a google search say it's always better to get the i5. May be Alpha can put more light on the subject. Also, i3s are dual core and i5s are quad cores and that's where it makes most of the difference
NitroNeo
I would get an i5 any day even phantom pain lists an i5 in it's minimum requirements. Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk

i_rock098
I am having a strange problem recently, every day on my pc a random program (Firefox, chrome, Adobe Reader etc) clashes randomly and slows down windows to a crawl, like after that crash opening any other applications takes like 6-7 mins can't even shut down or restart from the software takes like 25 mins to shut down, so I force restart using my cabinets restart button. After the restart everything works perfect for the rest of the day. What's happening? ALPHA17
K thanks Will do Btw does 15 have any advantage over i3 in gaming?? Do games even utilize the 3rd and 4th core of i5?? You would do fine with the Core i3 in gaming. At-least for now. Core i3's are killing it with the best of the best (in mid-range gaming benches). If and when the multi-core standards gets improved in games, a multi-core would be a definite must but if you can save money, I would rather invest in a SSD now and upgrade the processor and associated paraphernalia later. I would get an i5 any day even phantom pain lists an i5 in it's minimum requirements. Then you should simply buy a Core i7 because Recommended Requirements. The Phantom Pain is running on older generation hardware than his current PC, it will handle that stuff with no issues. Bump What is your PC configuration and how much RAM do you have? I think you are facing a memory leak issue. Ctrl +Alt +Esc, check your memory usage at any given time your PC starts to crawl. NitroNeo
This was a image i posted earlier. Windows says to disable caching and shadowing ram options. In memtest86 system info for ram it showed caching enabled. Will i see performance degraded in games or any other apps or operations if i disable them ? What are the default caching and shadowing settings ? I am a bit worried if gskill will take my problem seriously since both memtest86 and windows memory diagnostic don't show any error ? Should i try updating UEFI bios can it fix the system firmware driver not updated issue i had ? Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
ALPHA17
^ Try to put in your kit for RMA, see what they see. Turn off RAM caching and RAM shadowing and find out yourself. Also, do you have a SSD or not?

ALPHA17
Just get the SSD and PSU for now. Save the rest of the cash, upgrade a year down the line. Because going forward the industry standard is DDR4 and Intel has already released a new chipset and processor family (too expensive) but the point is buying all this now will be made moot in about six months time. Plus it is not like you do not have a PC that is capable of running with the new parts. So just upgrade the bare minimum you need now and carry forward and rest take it up later. For SSD, I would recommend you go with these units, Crucial BX100, SAMSUNG 850EVO. Intel is pretty much over-priced SSD's apart from their top-line.

ALPHA17
^ I think it is a memory leak issue, already asked someone to look into the matter. Will share as and when more information is at hand. Cheers!
NitroNeo
Wth is happening to everyone's ram. BC koi RAM puja dalo. On a serious note though even upgrading my bios and removing the Graphic Card nor the hard drives one by one helped still get the MM error. @alpha, yes i have a samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD. Also i don't see any option directly showing caching or shadowing to be enabled or disabled. I only see a weird option called memory scrambler enabled. See the pic below. Sorry it came out dark, the flash was on. Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
