Bulovski
DS - NTFS does use diskspace better. FAT32 is an archaic system. But I am not sure if you have partitions with multiple file systems whether it will be recognized by the PS3. Since it's a new drive you can try it. Do quick formats, not low level formats while changing the file systems, and your drive should be ok.
Pushy
Dunno, this query is more about FAT32 and NTFS. Anyway, it fits in both sections i suppose no it doesn't, ocz u wanna USE IT FOR PS3. @ GS, r u sure u have turned OFF System Restore(coz it takes a sh*t load of space on Vista)? (if on Vista) Edited November 26, 2008 by pushy
MarketTantrik
Hey guys, i just got a 1 tb external hard disk. I want to plug it to my ps3, but since it reads only FAT32, i formatted the whole drive to fat32 using swissknife. I googled about it and saw that ntfs is overall a better file structure than fat32 and offers a better performance, recoverability etc etc, especially for large volume drives. Should i make a fat32 partition inside the ext HD, to store stuff which i might want to watch on the ps3. Or is there another way out? Create two partitions on the drive. One 32 GB partition (FAT32) and the rest of the space can be allocated to one giant NTFS partition.
