lithuvien
My father is looking to upgrade his PC, one which he bought 7 years ago. So his main work revolves around working with satellite image feeds (he is a geologist). Will a high end GPU like 970 be more helpful or mid end GPU and more RAM (16 / 24 GB) be better? ALPHA17
Is 25k the starting price for a gtx 970 in online stores? Depends on the model and company, also the site. Sometimes PayTM drops huge cashback offers. My father is looking to upgrade his PC, one which he bought 7 years ago. What software does he use for his work. Depends on that. I doubt it will be very GPU intensive, so he can even settle for something like an entry-level Quadro. So any vendor is totally fine with me. The asking price that I ve been able to scourge over the net so far is: Gainward 24.5k Zotac 25k Gigabyte (TT and mini itx) 25.5k Any chance of finding any of these models at a price lower than this ? ALPHA17
^ No, these are pretty practical prices. Check on Ritchie Street once before purchasing. Gainward is a company that I do not have any idea w.r.t. to its after sales and support so I would steer away from it.
WR10
Yeah the prices from Ritchie street are quite close to this. I was also able to find a reference gtx 970 for 25k. Also, is the gigabyte mini itx model compatible with a micro atx mobo? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
pbpoovannagamer
Quality comes at a price. High quality 2.1 beats ordinary/cheap 5.1 setup. Regarding THX certified 2.1 vs 5.1, it depends. Example: Z-623 is better than Z-506. But if you compare with high quality 5.1 setup, latter will be obviously better. Music is produced in 2.0 format. While games and movies are produced in 5.1. Second, the total watt of the Z-506 is 75 watts (RMS) which is meagre compared to the Z-623 [200 watts (RMS)]. Z-623 over Z-506. If you can save more, then go for better brands. Wharfedale, Polk Audio, Monitor, Audioengine, Klipsch, etc,. Wharfedale Diamond 210 Wharfedale Diamond 220 Audioengine A2 / A2+ Q Acoustics 2010i Q Acoustics 2010 are very good as well, but, they are quite old now; still miles better than Z506. thanks a lot joe cool. This is extremely helpful could you copy paste the same reply in the topic i created in techzone? http://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49810 so in future if people had similar doubts they could just read what you have said and make use of the information. SonicDave
Please suggest a 5.1 setup for my pc. i saw this Logitech Z506 5.1 setup. Please suggest. Budget - willing to spend 10k. also is a THX certified 2.1 better than an ordinary 5.1 ? I would rate the Z506 as a decent speaker. However there is the better and costlier Z623. I would go with the latter. Quality comes at a price. High quality 2.1 beats ordinary/cheap 5.1 setup. Regarding THX certified 2.1 vs 5.1, it depends. Example: Z-623 is better than Z-506. But dont the A2's cost over 10k or something? Last time i checked the A2 it was available for 13k. Great speakers though. Look beautiful too. White color A2. <3 Is 25k the starting price for a gtx 970 in online stores? Seems so. Zotac's starts 25k. Sometimes you'll find it for 24k during small sales. The asking price that I ve been able to scourge over the net so far is: Gainward 24.5k Zotac 25k Gigabyte (TT and mini itx) 25.5k Any chance of finding any of these models at a price lower than this? Max Pain
Keep checking Snapdeal for cashback offers. Also www.mdcomputers.in MSI GTX 980 Ti costs only 54K... Is the site reliable? If so, I will buy it from there.
Heaven Angel
Make no sense to upgrade GTX 980Ti when you already have GTX 970. You are better of getting 2nd 970 instead, and save almost half of the spending budget. GTX 970 is still great for the price, and still new. But if you have already made up your mind for 980Ti, at least wait for new cards to arrive? Till then use 970. Just my 2 cents.
Max Pain
Too late, I have already committed to sell my card. Plus, I have been planning to upgrade for months. When are the new cards arriving though?
ALPHA17
^ Not before next September from nVidia's side, maybe the same on AMD's end as well.
Max Pain
^ Not before next September from nVidia's side, maybe the same on AMD's end as well. Okay! It is very far from now. Nothing wrong in upgrading I think, and it is not like GTX 980 Ti will not be able to cope up then.
