Anyone know if WD/Seagate still manufacture lower capacity internal drives like 250GB/320GB SATA? I want to buy them directly from the authorized distris and not through online sellers/e-commerce sites (don't want to take any risk), while online pc stores have much higher rates so i want to avoid them.

Not sure whether they manufacture or not, but I think at the price of those drives, you can get a 500GB one these days.

Can you borrow someone else's PSU / take it to your local PC part dealer to test your components before investing in a new PSU.

Also, had you made any changes to your PC around the time this started occurring?

It could be motherboard issue too.

Is PSU fan running when you turn it on?

Do you hear beep?

The PSU was busted.

Bought a new one, everything is working fine now..

Thanks guys

^ Hey man, I would suggest the following,

Intel Core i3 6300

MSi H110M PRO-VH

G.Skill / Kingston 4GB x1 DDR4 ValueRAM (add another stick down the line)

Western Digital Blue Edition 1TB

[optical drive if desired]

Seasonic S12II 430W

chassis of your choice

This will go up-to ~30,000/- for this set-up.

If you are willing to look at AMD chips, an APU will suit your HTPC needs much better and come in a little cheaper at the cost of using slightly dated hardware with lower performance. Let us know, Cheers!

Thanks for the reply alpha.
Nah don't like AMD at all, I will add entry level GPU in future if I need to but I think i3 6100/6300 will hold 1080p movies just fine .
And one more thing I was considering gigabyte mobo
I am getting i3 6100 + gigabyte H110 board for 15k . should I go for it ?
Gigabyte H110-M-S2 DDR4 board .

Edit: i jsut saw MSI board and i guess i am more than fine with that

Is it a legit copy?

If no, then do not because the notebook brand can deny support on basis of the pirated OS.

Just uninstall everything that you term as junk.
